Anything at all that you found whether it be a bargain or a life hack... feel free to share. I'll try to think of some too

It helps me plan lessons by making resources/worksheets; it writes emails for me; I can upload my handwritten lesson observations notes and it types it up as a fluid email; it can generate photos of exactly what I want to represent an idea; it can create schedules, reports, do calculations... it has honestly halved my work load. I feed it the info, it does the hard work, then I edit it to make it exactly what I want. I'd never go back!

Ooh. Teacher here who could do with halving my workload (who couldn't?!). I can't seem to get my head around how to use AI usefully. I once tried asking Chatgpt to make me a power point to teach a particular thing. It said it couldn't make powerpoints. So I asked it to make a presentation. It did, but it was rubbish!

Try having your PowerPoint open yourself & then ask it to suggest TLA activities around XYZ subject to last 15 mins of lesson time etc. Then copy & paste what you like into your PowerPoint. I upload texts into it & ask it to read it & make reading comprehensive questions based on it. It can also make quizzes etc. You just got to feed it the right info.

I'm currently experimenting with it marking student work. I've fed it my mark scheme, then took a photo of my student's work (handwritten) & asked it to mark it using said mark scheme... and it did! It said why it gave it what it did & also generated targets for what the student needed to do to get higher marks. Honestly, it's blowing my mind daily.

Slow cooker liners! I love my slow cooker but used to dread using it because no matter how much I sprayed it with oil, it would always be a bugger to clean afterwards. Now I just pop in a liner, use it, then chuck away the liner. I know it's not exactly green, but I don't use the slow cooker that much so I tell myself it's okay 😁

Cillit Bang Bathroom mousse

Just spray it all over bath and shower, leave 5 mins and rinse off, no scrubbing or bending down, nice and shiny

Oh ... I'll be popping some of this on my list

Hydrocolloid plasters.
How has it taken me to the age of 44 to discover these. Revolutionary.

StickyStones · 18/11/2024 18:52

I use the revolution tumble dryer all the time, I just take my wet washing, I put 4/5 full loads into the industrial dryer and it's all bone dry in an hour.

Beautifully soft and wrinkle free too. I'm finding my local one is in use a lot these days, they must be getting more popular.

Bananaram · 18/11/2024 18:59

@usernother @Jeezypeepz I set a timer on my phone then go for a coffee while it dries. I don't know if you can open them whilst the machines are one (I'm assuming yes in case of fire?!) You pay £3.50 for 20 minutes, but the machine weighs how much you put in and will put it on for longer depending on the weight

I felt like a bit of a criminal the first time I did it, I selected the £3.50 20 minutes option but it spun for 40 minutes due to the weight. You pay upfront so it didn't charge me extra, although if you chose a 40 minute spin it's £7 😶

Also, I haven't used a tumble drier in years so I'm not sure what items may or may not shrink 😳 we've been lucky so far that nothing has shrank

Can you wash them aswell as dry them? Is there usually a queue? This sounds awesome!

Yes ours has a large 20kg drum washing machine as well as an average sized one. There hasn't ever been a queue when we have gone, although we have had to wait about 20 minutes for someone else's washing to dry and them to collect it. The risk is someone's washing could be done and you're stuck waiting for them to come back if they don't have their own timer. You can set up email notifications which let you know when the load is nearly done but I just set a timer on my phone.

Honestly my ironing this week was a breeze, and knowing I don't have to do midweek loads of washing, drying and ironing makes me ridiculously happy 😁

The gym. I’m 48. I decided it was time to take care of myself for my future self. I go every morning at 6am. And I found I enjoy it! Love weight training.

i also have cleaned up my food. And I can honestly say I have never felt better.

This is amazing! How did you motivate yourself to go?

Oh yes, these are the business. I discovered this when I cut/bashed/grazed my elbow to smithereens and couldn't bear anything on it. Someone recommended hydrocolloid dressings and I braved it - great decision!

I'm seriously tempted by one of these. I have an air fryer and a double electric hob (as my daughter's ADHD won't let her use the gas hob in our rental!) but I'm still thinking of a countertop dishwasher! Could you link to which you bought please? 😊

Pinkchicken85 · 18/11/2024 19:26

Those small vividly orange pumpkins are absolutely delicious. I’ve been blending them in soups or roasting with olive oil.

Let's see about that!

I used a launderette at 19 in my first flat. In 1982. Why are they seen as revolutionary?!

that you can click on Reader button to read all those news articles which are behind a paywall. I didn't know you could do this. Game changer!

Hello @desidi. Where is this button please?
