It's looking good for Trump. My dad is a total Trump hater and has been convinced that he won't win, especially since Kamala took over.
I don't know how the system works but is it too early to say that Trump is going to win?

This stuff- you mean empathy towards your fellow humans? Everyone should have that, religious or not.
I wonder about how religious Trump's side are. There are some genuinely religious moderate Republicans, but I feel like Trump's side are either fundamentalists or cynically using it as a campaigning tool.

The ones i knew from Newport Wales, out worked & out skilled any Brit, they did super well, went back to Poland and have a great life there.

The racism they experienced here was beyond awful, couldn't even use a bus for all the comments they got and this was around 2012 when we were all supposed to be happy and multicultural!!

And Ringo, my question has not been answered. How will the immigrants live before deportation w no jobs, no aid, no NGOs, & high taxes? Being an atheist isn't a valid reason to not answer or abdicate all concern.

I don’t believe trump particularly cared about deporting immigrants, IMO he is too self-centered to be concerned about anything which does not directly affect him. But his supporters care and so immigration was a tool to foment outrage and get them to vote for him. Stephen miller, one of trump’s advisors, is the driving force behind ‘zero tolerance’ and I have no doubt he will deliver, with great zeal and glee.

I have a natural disgust for people who spread lies to make people hate a people group. My issue isn't people eating cats and dogs, I really don't have a problem with that. I've eaten all kinds of animals. I do have a problem with someone who wants to be elected spreading lies about an entire people group stealing people's pets and eating them just to stir up hatred towards them. I hope you can understand the difference.

Zonder, exactly. In India, plenty of people would see us eating beef as disgusting. I love cats, but if in someone's country the culture is to eat them, that's up to them. I'm a vegetarian & believe all animal eating is wrong, but I don't think eating a cat is worse than eating a cow.

Stealing pets is hateful, but there's no evidence it's happened.
I will look up if people in Haiti generally eat cat meat. The situation there is v bad, & I wouldn't be suprised if they do have to. But is it a common dish? Maybe, maybe not.

Dogs and cats are carnivores so there might be more risk to eating them than eating herbivores. Though we eat pigs that are omnivores.

Indeed. And in India, there have been riots (nowadays also spread by social media yay) in which one caste or religion is falsely accused of eating cows and then are attacked by an angry mob. Despite the fact that people in other countries do indeed eat beef - it doesn't make the people spreading those lies less irresponsible. I know that "disinformation" gets used so often its become a meme. But it isn't just offensive, it is like you said, designed to stir up hatred and that can have serious consequences.

But my point was different. It was that they come from a country where eating cats is normal. It is prudent to question whether or not they are aware that eating stray cats is not an accepted practice?

As several of us have said before, that really isn't the point. People can eat what they like. But a future president shit stirring by telling people the Haitians are stealing pets and eating them to make a point of turning people against immigrants is a whole different level of nastiness.

Especially when he is himself a child of immigrants. Just nasty. You have to ask if the people backing him are ignorant of his nastiness or aware of it but don't care.

Its just deflection to justify his/her support of a very nasty man.

Cultural differences on food choices are absolutely nothing to do with Trump and his racism.
