Who will win US Election - Gut feelings

I have been half following online and media coverage of the US Election. It is getting close now. What is your gut feeling on who is going to win?

About a month ago, I felt fairly confident that Kamala Harris would win (who I want to win). Now though I am not sure and the amount of rumour and almost conspiracy around it online seems to be reaching fever pitch.

If you had to place a bet (grand national style) who would you go for?

I can't believe women (or anyone for that matter) is so ignorant of the US Constitution as to think the reversal of R v W took away their rights to get an abortion in the U.S.!

Kind of odd, as I could have sworn these states were in the US.

I think there are a lot of shy Republicans, like my American relative who is staying with me at the moment. She hates both but is voting Trump as believes he's the least horrendous. Is sick of what she describes as the dystopian authoritarian system
under Biden and thinks the economy and country was more stable under Trump.
Insane to think she prefers that idiot to the Democrats answer, but many others feel the same but wouldn't dare admit it out loud.

Yes, nothing says "least worst option" than having to have the National Guard on standby in case he loses and his supporters erupt into violence again.

It probably goes both ways, though. I bet lots of women with Trumpy husbands are voting Harris. At least I hope so.

I think Trump has it. Following plenty of online accounts & his supporters are out in droves since the very early morning over there. The very biased mainstream media are getting more muted in their propoganda. Roll on tonight!

It's a mutual battle of misinformation at the moment.
My x feed is really full of Harris enthusiasm and voters from it I'd have said shes ahead now but I'm not convinced.
It's just utterly ludicrous that it's so close given the Trump circus.

Still can't believe that a country with a population that big, produces such poor candidates for President.

Harris will win. Trump will throw a tantrum. Chaos will ensue once again.

I wouldn't be so confident re a Harris win, the optimism is all spin.

It's not true. There is no such thing as ballots for Trump supporters. Both candidates appear on the same ballot. Voters choose one or the other.

DH's dad and stepmom live in rural PA. Stepmom is a democrat but keeps that very quiet as they are surrounded by Trump supporters. My FiL has never taken US Citizenship despite living there for 40 years so isn't able to vote. Which might be a good thing as I think he thinks they are both dreadful candidates but he was a Thatcherite when he lived in the UK so I wouldn't put it past him to vote for Trump.

Rural Pennsylvania is incredibly redneck, I think everyone thinks of Philly when they think of PA but that's only part of the population. Where my PIL live is rustbelt, with very little work as the steel yards and coal mines have all closed down. People are poor and quite naive - they believe the lies that RW media push.

1. ballots have all the candidates and the voter selects their choice
2. it isn’t possible to run out of ballots. There is a ballot for every registered voter at each polling place
3. only a subset of locations even use paper ballots anymore. No one wants to repeat the hanging chad debacle. I voted on a computer last week. For transparency it then prints out a paper ballot that I can read and check that it is accurate. Then I place that ballot into a reading machine where it is counted again. The two counts, computer and ballot machine are checked against one another.

How did I vote last week? many states have advanced voting. Mine makes it super easy to vote. For almost 3 weeks I could go to any one of over a dozen polling places in my county that had convenient hours on weekdays and weekends. We even get snazzy county specific stickers to show we voted. I put mine on my bag and wear it until Election Day.

The source is not reliable, as us US voters have pointed out. There is no such thing as specific ballots for either Trump or Harris supporters.

I hope and pray for a trump win because it may force Ukraine to negotiate and talk to Russia. The killing needs to stop
