Liam Payne Funeral

Read online that Liam Payne’s funeral could be as big as Princess Diana’s - not sure how true this is.

Don’t get me wrong I think it’ll be a large public gathering for sure…. Unless the family decide to have a more private service unannounced with just family and friends etc..

I doubt the information of it being bigger than Diana PoW has come from Liam Payne's family.

Just part of need to keep this tragedy high up in media clicking bait mode

username3678 · 19/10/2024 22:45

Probably. Do you think it will be a state funeral as well? I'd love a day off.

flapjackfairy · 19/10/2024 22:45

it is all getting a bit ridiculous now!

HighlandsExpat · 19/10/2024 22:45

Sounds like hyperbole. It might be a public funeral (eg, they announce the location and fans will be outside the building) but I doubt it will be anything like Diana's in terms of impact or logistics.

Do you have any critical thinking skills at all? Do you read books? Do you believe everything you read online?

Come on now...

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 19/10/2024 22:52

Has anyone taken on board what Cheryl said about all this. He has a 7 year old little boy who really doesn’t need people discussing all this.

StSwithinsDay · 19/10/2024 22:55

@teaandtoastwithmarmite
Of course they haven't. They are all bursting to be first with the news.
Mourn porn.

SpiggingBelgium · 19/10/2024 22:55

Read it where online?

Half the nation watched Diana’s funeral. Both the UK’s biggest TV channels broadcast the entire thing live. I really can’t see that happening for a pop star.

Of course. Jesus wept. What’s wrong with people

This absolutely.

I hope his family and friends can have a private funeral to remember and respect his life.

It obviously won’t be a state funeral, and people should stop gossiping online about it (and I fully appreciate I shouldn’t reply to threads about it that fuel this).

PrimalLass · 19/10/2024 22:57

Just stop

Good point and me too tbh but it’s just ghoulish and upsetting now.

AmICrazyToEvenBother · 19/10/2024 22:59

Both ridiculous and disgusting that the press are still dining out on this.

StSwithinsDay · 19/10/2024 23:01

@AmICrazyToEvenBother
Yes. But only because there are ghouls out there lapping it all up.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 19/10/2024 23:04

@StSwithinsDay very true. I was reading about the death as well as was quite upset by it but the comment from Cheryl made me think and stop and I wasn’t sharing the details on social media

YourTwinklyDeer · 19/10/2024 23:06

I hope they manage to keep it private. I find it all incredibly sad and more so because he comes from your average background. The family need to be able to grieve together without the media circus that is going on.

CalicoPusscat · 19/10/2024 23:07

I hope people leave his loved ones alone

Makelikeatreeandleaf · 19/10/2024 23:12

Of course it won't be and it absolutely shouldn't be. He was not the most famous man that ever lived and I can't say I'd heard of him doing anything of note in some time. His family and friends need to do their mourning in private and the Instagram generation need to stop trying to muscle in and hijack every single thing that ever happens.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks this

littlenickyy61 · 19/10/2024 23:15

When is this going to stop - speculation about how he died , why he died ,his mental state , nasty comments about current girlfriend and ex girlfriend and now even speculation about his funeral . Do we really now need to get into it about the possible size of his funeral Enough already people, let him rest in peace and let his family and friends start their healing journey .

motheronthedancefloor · 19/10/2024 23:15

I'm guessing the OP is one or more of these things:

  1. Someone born after Diana died or too young to remember
  2. Someone with little to no knowledge of royal or state funerals
  3. Someone who doesn't pay much attention to historical events
  4. Someone who spends wayyyy too much time on social media
  5. Someone who only gets their news from said social media
  6. Somene who needs to GTFU
Ohlaylaylayla · 19/10/2024 23:16

Yes, I heard that Charles is devastated and there will be a day of mourning. God bless boy bands
