Tonight’s the night

DD has to gone off for a sleepover and now I have five hours to wait for my nice new man to come for dinner and a sleepover of our own. First time we’ll have DTD (assuming we do) after three dates over the course of six weeks. I’m excited and a bit nervous!

What shall I do to pass the time? I’m thinking… a bit of meal prep, nice bath, maybe a preparatory glass of wine in a couple of hours. I have the dress chosen and out of the wardrobe. It’s a long time to wait!

I’ve had that and it still didn’t work out (despite it becoming a long relationship and kids).

My friend’s relationship was a slow burner, she was even still crushing on someone else at the beginning so was not very sure about it. Fast forward and they’ve been very happily married for nearly forty years now. It really just all depends.

It’s a shame it didn’t pan out but there’ll be others.

Well, it COULD be a slow burner. When I met now dh I didn’t fancy him, at all. In fact, fancying him was the furthest thing from my mind - I thought he was a massive arsehole. But, as I got to know him, he grew on me (a bit like a wart 🤣) and I still fancy him 20 years later. Having said that, I have dated men that I could just never, ever shag. Is it worth another go op, or is he firmly in the “nope never” category?
TMI here, but the first time now dh and I shagged was….not good. Second time, some improvement but still a bit meh…..Third time…..fireworks!!! And it has only improved since then……

That happened to me 22 years ago and we have now been married for 20 years (I want to make it clear that we did not DTD in a coffee shop)

I have an update for anyone following this… 😊

We carried on texting after the Infamous Night Of Leaving Early. Turns out it was a mixture of nerves and tiredness on both parts! Anyway, via text it became increasingly obvious that we would meet again and this time there’d be no hesistating.

DD at her dad’s last night. Long story short, he’s only just left!! 😊
