Arrived in my stocking from FC. I was 9. Still one of the best gifts I've ever had.

Like @beetlebrain the first album I ever bought was The Kick Inside, Kate Bush's first. She was and is amazing, just unique. The first single I bought had been Wuthering Heights. Not sure if I still have them as I've moved so many times, hopefully kicking around in the attic.

The first single bought for me might have been something a bit more embarrassing, (whisper) Kisses for Me by Brotherhood of Man. Cheesy! And the first album, somebody gave me - one of those Top of the Pops compilations with session singers covering the current hits.

Make It Big by Wham! in 1984. I still like “Wake me up before you go-go” and “Careless Whisper, ” so there!

It was a tape, I think it got lost.

A New World Record, ELO, probably (can't be sure as this was during my early teens in the 70s). I don't still have it or any of my LPs or singles - had to toss them, and my record player, during a major downsizing six years ago.
