And do you still have it?

Mine was Madonna 'True Blue' 🙈

And yes I do. (Still in my old bedroom at my parents house)

Edwyn Collins!
No idea what happened to it.

DeepBlueSeas · 27/09/2024 11:15

Linkin Park Hybrid Theory.

A brilliant, masterful album, one of my all time favourites.

Sadly, I don’t have the CD anymore (several house moves over the years & it’s gone missing) but its on my Spotify & I listen to it regularly.
(Even though listening to Chester Bennington’s voice makes me feel a bit emotional at times🥹)

Actually groundbreaking. The dawning of nu-metal for me, and we could listen to it all the time because it had no swear words!

Stage Struck by David Essex, and I still have it.

AngeloMysterioso · 27/09/2024 11:39

Everything Changes by Take That. I bought it with an Our Price voucher I was given on my 8th birthday 🙂 no idea where in the world it is now, landfill probably!

HotMess21 · 27/09/2024 11:49

U2's "October" on vinyl, bought with money from my paper round. Yes, I still have it (it's one of my favourite U2 records) 💜

HotMess21 · 27/09/2024 11:53

JaneIves · 26/09/2024 22:24

George - Faith

Terence Trent Darby - can't remember the name of the album!

Was it "Introducing The Hardline According to Terence Trent D'Arby"? I also have this one, on vinyl. Still love it!

fussychica · 27/09/2024 12:02

Carole King - Tapestry. Yes I still have it in the loft with hundreds of others. I still love it and play it but not the vinyl version.

Gilead · 27/09/2024 12:06

A New World Record by ELO. This was 1976 and I was 12.

ShortyWentLow · 27/09/2024 19:21

Bought with my own money was probably come on die young by Mogwai.

Alas, the first album I asked for was the one by Ant and Dec with let's get ready to rumble on it. Which actually I think is still quite catchy.

AmyDudley · 27/09/2024 20:50

Desire by Bob Dylan (Showing my age as I bought it when it first came out)

No I don't have it in on the original LP anymore, I do have it on CD though.
I love it. I used to sing along to it in my Bob Dylan voice - how lucky my parents were having to listen to that 😂

coxesorangepippin · 27/09/2024 20:58

Oasis

Definitely maybe

Abracadabra12345 · 27/09/2024 22:36

Queen II even though I was a Marc Bolan fan and David Bowie fan before Queen. I probably couldn't afford to buy any albums before then!

Some brilliant names on this thread

JaneIves · 27/09/2024 12:09

@JaneIves Yep, GIYF! 😂

Abracadabra12345 · 27/09/2024 22:38

I love the early Bowie albums mentioned and Desire by Bob Dylan, and Linkin Parks Hybrid Theory

Fgfgfg · 27/09/2024 22:56

Steel Pulse - Handsworth Revolution
Still have it but nothing to play it on

AllMyExesWearRolexes · 28/09/2024 00:27

Setting Sons, The Jam. Long gone now sadly but on my ipod.

BertieBotts · 28/09/2024 00:31

I think it was Evanescence - Fallen.

It wasn't the first album I owned, I had a load of CDs (mostly S Club 7 and Hearsay Grin) but I think they were all given to me as Christmas/birthday presents. And I might have bought a compilation before that.

I have such a strong memory of buying Fallen and I was obsessed with it.

I think it might be in a box somewhere. I still play it on spotify which is not quite the same.

BertieBotts · 28/09/2024 00:32

I never had the Linkin Park album but I think every boyfriend I ever had owned that one. Well apart from the first one who was very boring.
