Mine was Madonna 'True Blue' 🙈

And yes I do. (Still in my old bedroom at my parents house)

Boy by U2. I bloody loved that album. Bought in Our Price in Hammersmith in 1980.

Cher, Love Hurts on CD

BusySittingDown · 26/09/2024 19:24

I didn't buy it, I got it off Father Christmas in 1988 when I had just turned 5. It was Kylie Minogue's debut album. I loved her!

I don't still have it, I have no idea what happened to it or any of my records from when I was young. My mum must have just thrown them out.

I asked for Abba greatest hits when I was knee high to a grasshopper. A bit embarrassing.
My first teen purchase was Kula Shaker album K.

I asked for Abba's The Visitors for Christmas back in 1981. This was back when Abba wasn't anywhere near as respected as they are now. So while I loved that album It was one I didn't tell any of my friends about.

Shardlake63 · 26/09/2024 19:29

Tubular Bells, Mike Oldfield.
Still have it, but on CD not vinyl. Can't remember what happened to my original vinyl.

Thevelvelletes · 26/09/2024 19:31

Rock and roll swindle..sex pistols.
20 mod classics vol 1 and 2..thus beginning my love affair with Motown and Northern soul.
Nope don't have them now.

Another Perfect Day. Motörhead.

Was blown away to discover Motörhead as a teenager and still have all the records I've ever bought.

GiddyRobin · 26/09/2024 19:33

Blonde on Blonde - Bob Dylan! Already had the CD but I got a proper record player for Christmas, so went and bought the record.

Now That's What I Call Music, on vinyl. The very first one. I wish I still had it.

This but on CD, can't remember what it was now but it was the early! Don't have it and don't remember what happened to it. I sometimes miss those days.

Too Rye Aye by Dexys.

My mum bought it for me for my 9 th birthday in 1982.

My very conservative gran bought me The Prodigy's Fat of The Land for Christmas when I was 12. It was on my list and she liked the crab on the cover.
