Could be anything..

I met a beautiful cocker spaniel puppy in the park today - she jumped up at me and put her nose in my hand. She was all squirmy and waggy with big brown eyes and flappy ears - an absolute delightful girl.

Thanks for this lovely thread. I loved the one about the old lady and pigeon. Mine is listening to Radio 3 and watching the cat zoom round the kitchen.

My cats completely ignoring the house full of comfortable sofas, beds and cushions to try and squeeze together on top of my sons schoolbag. Daft animals are the best kind 😂

My ex has two cats, and when I stop for a natter they both have to formally investigate and sit on my backpack. It is apparently the rules. We are all quite perplexed, but it is now just what happens.

PhilsMajicHat · 26/09/2024 21:28

I heard that a lump I have is nothing to worry about

FussyPud · 26/09/2024 21:30

My smile was that I managed a nap under a freshly washed duvet. The white noise from the pelting rain was quite soothing.

StMarieforme · 26/09/2024 21:40

@Hedjwitch thank you for your kind words.

Finding £300 in my energy account, which I've requested is reimbursed. Also reduced my direct debit by £50 per month based on my usage / their recommendation. Happy days 😀

Saw a lovely ginger cat with lush fluffy fur lazing on a front step in the sun on my lunch time walk. The concrete looked warmed from the sun and he looked so relaxed sprawled out sideways with his belly up.
I wanted to be that cat

Jigglypufff · 26/09/2024 21:45

@PhilsMajicHat that's good news. Smile

Mine is that someone at work stopped me and said they liked my skirt, when they walked away I heard them saying to their friend "she always looks stylish". I was buzzing.

Hearing my lovely teenage DD really laughing at something on TV this evening. She’s had a rough few weeks and that laugh was a joy.

MaybeDawn · 26/09/2024 21:59

I treated myself to a ginger cat ornament for my kitchen window sill. I've had a rubbish few weeks, I'm a full time carer for dh who never buys me anything, we never go on holiday/out for meals etc (not his fault as he's disabled) and these last couple of weeks MIL has been ill, become incontinent and steadfastly refused to go into hospital, so I've had to look after her as well as, obviously, dh can't do it and family is a bit thin on the ground. I was feeling a bit sorry for myself, both my parents died young and listening to MIL constantly complaining and never even saying so much as a simple "thank you" has got to me a bit, so I thought I'd say "thank you to me from me" and I'm now excited waiting for it to be delivered tomorrow!

I have recently lost my best friend to cancer. It's her funeral tomorrow. She used to do this all the time, and people would beam when she did. Your post has made me happy. Thank you so much. 48 years of friendship. I miss her so much.

Sorry for your loss.

I was measuring an area of our sitting room floor and my little boy, who is 3, came over with some toy cones 'to help me measure'. He was so sweet and earnest and delighted when I measured between the cones too.

PyreneanAubrie · 26/09/2024 22:51

Our gigantic puppy wandering into the kitchen and lying down contentedly with her chew stick while I was cooking dinner.

Sofabookhotchoc · 26/09/2024 22:55

My DD15 received a postcard today from school, telling her she was Awesome. She really is and it's lovely that other people see that too.

Notmydaughteryoubitch · 26/09/2024 23:01

We've just finished watching the Detectorists which we loved (very Johnny come lately). I went for a walk at lunchtime with the dog, the sun came out and on the farmers field as I walked around were half a dozen Detectorists, it made me smile and I hummed the theme tune as I walked past.

A little boy told me mine is the best class he's ever been in. He's only been in 4 others in his life but still...

I had similar a few days ago when I overheard a boy from a difficult year 8 class I was covering saying ‘ ooh look we’ve got our favourite teacher’ 😂😂

Thanks everyone, I love this thread.
Today it's feeling sunlight in my face after a few days of rain/work stopping me going outside when it's light. It feels so special after rubbish weather

PyreneanAubrie · 28/09/2024 11:00

Having a line full of washing out in the autumn sunshine.

63isMe · 28/09/2024 16:24

Just love all these! I went to the hairdresser for the first time in a couole of years (moved house and couldn’t be arsed to find a new one) -what a difference!!! Had forgotten how good it feels to have smooth shiny hair!

Judellie · 03/10/2024 16:27

I found my winter coat that I thought I had lost, was delighted!

Arraminta · 03/10/2024 18:45

I wore my longstanding 'Autumn' perfume for the first time today (Aromatics Elixir by Clinique) and it smells absolutely wonderful.

Circumferences · 03/10/2024 18:53

Our cat came back !!

He hadn't been seen since Sunday. I've put the fire on for him, given him cat milk and treats, DS is delighted to have his beloved fur baby back again. I was fearing the worst.
