I'll start.

Toothbrush heads for electric toothbrushes - just a bit of plastic!

Reprogramming keys for cars (why does it cost £100s)

SunQueen24 · 25/09/2024 21:36

I came on to stay take away tea. They wanted £3.20 for a tea at costa when I stopped at the services on Saturday. £3.20 for some hot water and a tea bag that probably cost them about 3p!
I got one from McDonald's in the end for £1.20 and I was still outraged at that!

SunQueen24 · 25/09/2024 21:37

And cushions!

how does anyone do those elaborate cushion displays.

terracottafarm · 25/09/2024 21:38

Tampons

pinkyredrose · 25/09/2024 21:39

Houses. Bricks and mortar, why the fuck do they cost hundreds of thousands!

piscofrisco · 25/09/2024 21:39

Also, anything I have to purchase from the Vet.
And Gaviscon.

Littletinytarzanswingingfromanosehair · 25/09/2024 21:41

Oh and Krispy Kreme

SayDoWhatNow · 25/09/2024 21:42

Orange juice - £3.30 for 900ml of Tropicana.

Tony's Chocolonely.

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 25/09/2024 21:43

Pizzas in restaurants. They're just fancy bread.
But the biggest mark-up I've seen is crisps. I noticed the price per kilo and it was about £235! A baking potato is about 50p.

Neodymium · 25/09/2024 21:43

the ‘brand name’ versions of pasta, milk or rice. Or flour and sugar. I buy all the staples from Aldi but I don’t understand why staples at the supermarket like brand name sugar is twice as much. And who is buying them? It’s literally just sugar. And the supermarket brand one is right there at half the price.

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 25/09/2024 21:43

Bog roll and butter

Absolute insanity.

Buffypaws · 25/09/2024 21:44

Takeaway coffee...my flat white is now £4.20..i no longer buy them

£6.50 is my record. Not even in London. London tourist trap record is £5.50.

Neveranynamesleft · 25/09/2024 21:44

Kettle chips. Lovely but they're just spuds like all the other crisps !

Livinginaclock · 25/09/2024 21:44

Soft drinks in bars.
Train tickets.

2ndMrsdeWinter · 25/09/2024 21:44

Anything from Claire’s Accesories. It looks like Temu plastic tat and costs 15 times the price.

£10 for a lip gloss? Outrageous!

How a glorified shed can be worth £500,000

Pammela2 · 25/09/2024 21:47

Rugs!
Toilet roll

reesewithoutaspoon · 25/09/2024 21:47

Skin care and beauty products.
Its a bit of cream barely an ounce most times. The 'active' ingredients are so far down the list they might as well be homeopathy. Not to mention the expensive ones all come in jars which once you open them degrade.

redtrain123 · 25/09/2024 21:47

Cushions - yes

Charlize43 · 25/09/2024 21:48

Postage Stamps!

It cost me more than the Birthday Card to send a card to France.
