I'll go first. THE RAIN

Our bedroom is an attic conversation and my said of the bed is partly underneath a skylight. It's like trying to sleep inside a drum!

Mr Monkey opened the bedroom window at some point before he came to bed, so I got woken up by the fucking monsoon outside I got up to shut it, now it is too hot and I can't sleep.

Jenasaurus · 23/09/2024 03:16

I'm dog sitting for my sons 2 whippets, Wilbur wants to go to the loo but not in the rain, so I am having to stand by the back door while he prances out and in deciding its far too wet for a wee! I tried to open an umbrella but he was scared of it, he did eventually go, then came inside jumped on the bed before I could towel dry him and then shake himself. The whippets suffer seperation anxiety when my son goes away so I let them in bed with me, but this means I have hardly any room....oh well thats why im awake

thisismynewnamefornow · 23/09/2024 03:17

one of DC had a blocked nose, so that's me now up and working. If I've slept over 4hrs then woken I'm always then awake

Nomorepants · 23/09/2024 03:21

someon · 23/09/2024 03:21

Not slept at all still awake Laying on a sofa listening to rain and just overthinking so cannot sleep!

ArizonaRobbinss · 23/09/2024 03:22

Always wake up at this time each night then fall asleep at five for a couple of hours before getting up for work
So annoying

maverickfox · 23/09/2024 03:26

The rain and worrying about the possibility of flooding because of stupid design design of the patio, not my doing.

Babyghirl · 23/09/2024 03:26

22m old dd sleep has been off for the last week, up from 12 and still not asleep I'm exhausted, have sure start classes tomorrow but think it will be a lazy day at this rate.

Thinking about bizarre recent behaviour from someone i had considered to be a friend and how to manage it as a result.. behaviour was deal breaking and very weird but not noticed by others so its hard to work out why and how to address it. Keeping me awake!

This will keep me awake now! What did friend that nobody noticed do?! Sorry to hear that though. Even spontaneous and vicarious as a stranger it’s a bit of a head wrecker.

Mixture of complex PTSD and grief, just lying here thinking about my siblings, three have died in the last four years.

Congratulations to all the new parents up and about, hand hold to those that need it due to life circumstances, and I have spare loo roll for anyone up with dodgy guts.

I’m so sorry xx

So sorry to read that, I can’t imagine how tough that’s been for you.
You must feel like a little piece of your childhood has died too, that’s a huge loss to deal with. 🌺

honestasever · 23/09/2024 03:31

DH is away on a lads holiday. I went to bed early and then woke up to messages from him. Now I can’t sleep

Sunshineandrainbow · 23/09/2024 03:32

Gallbladder attack. Taken buscopan, naproxen and having a peppermint tea to try and help.

Kiuyni · 23/09/2024 03:32

A phone call from dc at uni who has ended up in hospital with covid.

Hakunatomato · 23/09/2024 03:35

Another one in South London! SE23. That rain was epic! But I have as
wake for th4 last hour since…..

DaveWatts · 23/09/2024 03:36

Rain on the skylight here too. Plus I'm 7 months pregnant and waking up a billion times a night for the loo.

Dontbeme · 23/09/2024 03:40

@honestasever @PlummyPears thank you both. When I think of my siblings, so many people feel their loss, while hurting right now, it's a sign of a good life lived to it's fullest. That's all any of us can wish for really, to be loved so wholeheartedly in life, unfortunately grief is the trade off.

12 week old baby who is WIDE AWAKE and has just done a massive poonami! no sleep tonight!

Polgara2 · 23/09/2024 03:44

I'm dog sitting for my daughter too. She must be missing them because she's decided to sleep with (hmm more like on) me. She's had an itchy ear for the last hour and it's like being in an earthquake! Sigh now she's settled down and I'm wide awake

Thursa · 23/09/2024 03:44

It’s only 8:44 at night…

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 23/09/2024 03:50

A mix of another one in the rain in a loft conversion and one who wakes middle of night every night.

Browsing fb and the dip under the train bridge in our town has flooded badly for first time in a few years and has a car floating in it. No damage to houses etc as it's where they dug the road out to let double decker buses under a bridge. Most locals know not to risk it...

It's the go to fb comment every time it gains a lot. Last time it was on the news.....

Why are you awake?

Picking them up in the morning as hospital have recommended that they come home. Now stressing because I work with vulnerable people and I really don't want covid!!

LostittoBostik · 23/09/2024 03:54

@LookAtThatCritter Ha, you're not... I just checked in with her.

Come back anyway! England misses you.
