Pop to the corner shop in joggers and scruffy t shirt and trainer. Hair in a scruffy un-brushed bun and not brushed teeth or washed face!

We only had milk for one coffee and everyone else still asleep!

Wouldnt be an issue....I chuck on some clothes and brush my teeth/hair to walk my dogs before I do anything else in the mornings.

But round my way its totally normal to see somebody in slippers, PJs and dressing gown go into the corner shop!
I think the worse Ive done is pop round the corner to a friends house in the evening wearing my PJs underneath a giant coat.

I'm gonna be that person who says they wouldn't run out of milk in the first place. See it getting low and make a mental note to get another one when I was out. However I'd have no problem going to the corner shop looking like a scruff bag. I'm sure they're used to it.

Absolutely

CoastalCalm · 21/09/2024 11:54

I was in this situation earlier as I’d got up during the night with epic heartburn and drank all the milk - didn’t think twice popping out before I was properly dressed but my local shop is probably used to me

Sologurn · 21/09/2024 11:55

I would deliveroo it but i have spending problems

Nope! I don’t understand the British obsession with milk, it’s not vital to every meal in our house.

Grumpy bum

StarSlinger · 21/09/2024 11:59

Why is this even a question? I wouldn't think twice about nipping to the corner shop for milk in my scruffs and crocs. Who would give a shit, really?

I’m not British, but what is vital in your house out of interest?

Oh god, I went to B&Q in my painting gear because the paint rollers were pissing me off. I was covered in paint splatter as well (and probably smelt a bit sweaty too)... I think they're probably used to it in B&Q. Although I'm sure my local corner shop has seen it all too Grin

For milk, I'd brush my teeth, put my hair in a pony and just check I didn't have smudged left over mascara under my eyes (the face wash never gets it off completely). If no bra, then I'd wear a baggy jumper to disguise them (but then I'm old with saggy tits, rather than young and perky).

So pleased you had your 2nd cup of coffee and new milk procured. Very impressed with freezing milk in ice cube bags, going to do that myself!

Top tip: also wear a really THICK top, then you don’t have to bother putting a bra on either.

Depends on build and age. I don’t think this would work for me and I would rather take a few seconds to put on a bra than have things swinging about.

Yes why would I care what the person serving me at 7am thinks bet they see a lot worse

I walked round to my friends in my oodie the other week. I was already wearing it when she told me to go round for a drink and didn't see the point in taking it off to put it immediately back on to then take it off as I left and put it back on when I got home. Took about 2 minutes door to door, my husband was horrified. I didn't see the problem with it, would have gone in my pyjamas too if I was wearing them. I do put real shoes on though.

I'm not saying who, but one of the adults who lives in this house has gone to the little Tesco at 6 AM in their pyjamas. Can't quite remember why but it was probably a Milk/Coffee/Cigarette emergency.

Admittedly it was years ago, but still...
