Pop to the corner shop in joggers and scruffy t shirt and trainer. Hair in a scruffy un-brushed bun and not brushed teeth or washed face!

We only had milk for one coffee and everyone else still asleep!

As long a you brush your teeth the rest doesn't matter.

Pickingmyselfup · 21/09/2024 09:17

Ideally it would be closer to 9am but if needs must then 7am be it. I would brush my teeth because it would feel a bit skanky not to, I would definitely chuck on my tracksuit bottoms and a hoody but I wear them to go to the shop in the afternoon anyway. Footwear either Uggs or flipflops, hair maybe brushed, depends if it looked totally wild.

Wouldn't necessarily need to be for milk, if I was up and awake at 7am and wanted something specific for breakfast I didn't have I would go get it. Shop is about a minutes drive or 5 minute walk so it's not really a massive hardship.

If I lived where I grew up with no shop closed than a 10 minute drive and a couple of minutes walk from the car then I would have to be more organised. One of the many reasons I don't want to live rurally because I'm just not that organised!

I'd go in my cosy crocs which I use as slippers. So comfy and can be worn outside. Regularly wear them to Sainsbury’s!

Why is everyone saying f they'd brush their teeth? Is it some kind of virtue signalling, why cant you leave the house for two minutes without brushing your teeth? What am I missing?

Because it's rude to have stinky morning breath.

I don't even really care about that. It's just a habit. I hate having sticky teeth in the morning.

If my local shop was a couple of minutes walk, I would definitely pop around at 7am for some milk yes, (in my scruffies. ) Would make my hair look OK, but wouldn't brush my teeth because I would be having breakfast in a few minutes. Who wants to have tea/coffee and cereals with the taste of toothpaste in your mouth? I don't understand why so many people say they would clean their teeth.

It's the second thing I do in the morning, because I can't stand the feel/taste of them. It's irrelevant if or when I'm leaving the house.

Ghilliegums · 21/09/2024 09:32

I enjoy my coffee in the morning. The taste of toothpaste really doesn't last long. I clean my teeth three times a day. No fillings and healthy teeth!

Unless you're planning on kissing someone on the way to the shop and back, there's no need to clean your teeth if you're popping out for 2-3 minutes to get milk for breakfast.

And despite what @Ghilliegums said, I do not have 'sticky teeth' when I wake up! boak! 🤢 That's a sign of gum disease, plaque, and tooth decay.

NowImNotDoingIt · 21/09/2024 09:38

@BrightHarvestMoon yup. I have crappy teeth and an even crappier dentist. Oh joy!

Don't be ridiculous. I didnt say YOUR teeth were sticky - I have no idea what your general oral hygiene is 😆

My teeth and gums are very healthy. My teeth feel much nicer after I've cleaned them. If you don't mind not doing it then great! We are all different. Sorry that my teeth cleaning has annoyed you so much first thing in the morning!

BibbityBobbityToo · 21/09/2024 09:38

I would drink black coffee and head off to the shops later.

Actually, very much this. You win!

@BrightHarvestMoon unbrushed mouths don't usually smell great first thing in the morning, tooth decay or not. I'd say it's common courtesy to brush for a couple of minutes before you converse with the shop keeper.

goestheweasel · 21/09/2024 09:41

Joggers no, I don't leave the house in joggers. Would take no more effort to throw on a pair of proper trousers or jeans, and normal t shirt. Had to do it today in fact when a last minute change of plans meant I needed to drop son off somewhere when I wasn't yet dressed, I didn't need to get out of the car but I still put on a pair of jeans and a clean t shirt, I did only scrape my hair back.

BrokenSushiLook · 21/09/2024 09:43

I'd put my big winter coat on over my pyjamas. I might pull a comb through my hair but wouldn't wash/clean teeth, I'd do that after breakfast.

GigiAnnna · 21/09/2024 09:44

No.

Turquoisa80 · 21/09/2024 09:44

I drink black coffee and try to keep juice in the fridge at all times so the kids and dh could have that as a drink instead of milk. So I wouldn't go until later

GigiAnnna · 21/09/2024 09:45

I mean, I wear joggers, t shirts and trainers but am always washed, hair brushed and a bit of make up on even just to pop out.

anxioussister · 21/09/2024 09:46

Deliveroo…

anxioussister · 21/09/2024 09:48

failing that… a splash of cold water + some moisturiser and pulling on jeans and a tee + jacket takes less than 3 minutes.

Miyagi99 · 21/09/2024 09:49

Yep, I’ve put my joggers and coat on over my pyjamas before now because I couldn’t be bothered getting changed. But I take my coffee black, I’d be going for eggs or bread!
