We watched Nightsleeper last night.
Was really looking forward to it.
It was so unbelievably bad but we loved it... DH said it was like a 6th form production😆

There was a show a few years back called Once Upon A Time, all about fairytale characters come to life in the same little American town. It was so utterly utterly dreadful; writing, accents, costumes, special effects... but it was so much fun. It was my comfort show for ages. It ran for so many seasons it's insane 😂

I feel like you and I have the same taste in shit TV.

Doctors on BBC1. It's like a modern day Crossroads - every now and then it's quite bonkers and then they throw in some brilliantly acted episodes.
I've been watching it for years and I'm gutted that it's finishing.
Nothing wrong with Law and Order.

Crossroads and Triangle, showing my age!

I liked Eldorado too.

ABirdsEyeView · 16/09/2024 16:19

Sister Wives. It's like watching a slow motion car crash and yet I cannot tear myself away - totally love it!

Toohotandsticky · 16/09/2024 16:22

OMG I've been craving a chicken and mushroom pot noodle for the last few days. Don't think I've had one for 30 years! I get angel delight regulalry for dessert at MiL's and love the fact that she hasn't moved on from this. I'd add tinned ravioli to the list too - smushed onto buttered toast and then covered in cheese.

Gerard Butler has a great line of so bad they're good films. I recently watched Geostorm, which is a classic of the genre! Also Greenland. And any of the Has Fallen series. Then there is Moonfall, which doesn't have GB but is maybe the best/worst of the best/worst.

My whole life is an apprciation of so-bad-it's-good 😂

Anjo2011 · 16/09/2024 16:22

Roses chocolates.Awful but comforting all at the same time.

icebearforpresident · 16/09/2024 16:28

Anything where Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is saving the world/his family/usually both at the same time! Saving the world from an earthquake? Excellent! Saving the world from a burning building? Perfect Saturday night viewing! Saving the world from a giant albino gorilla with a side of evil siblings who are absolutely modelled on Don Jr & Ivanka Trump? Sign me the fuck up!

I would watch anything, no matter how piss poor and cheesy, if it's got The Rock in. 😁

For me it's a series called Scorpion. Apparently based on a real person - it's is so so unbelievably far-fetched. I flipping love it 😁

Did anyone else watch Sunset Beach? Definitely falls into this category.

I do love a fray bentos pie

I loved Sunset Beach! I broke my leg and was off work for a few weeks and it genuinely brightened my day when I discovered Sunset Beach. I was so unimpressed when I had to go back to work, it meant I had to watch the 5 hour omnibus on a Sunday 🤣

ReadWithScepticism · 16/09/2024 16:46

Oh lol. I came on to this thread to say Nightsleeper, only to discover that the whole thread was started in honour of its enjoyable shitness.Grin
Of all the things in all the world that are so shit they are good, Nightsleeper is so shit that it was the very first thing to come to my mind.

ReadWithScepticism · 16/09/2024 16:49

The other main contender, to my mind, is Weston-Super-Mare.

IdLikeToBeAFraser · 16/09/2024 16:49

I am going to add nightsleeper to my viewing list... it's clearly got a lot of love here from people I realise are 100% "my people"

sort of in same vein, I'll add super cheesy OTT weddings. Lots of people like to roll their eyes and think it's ridiculous - I absolutely LOVE them. I don't even care if I don't get to go - tell me about them and I'm there for it.

It's absolutely terrible. Poor acting, dreadful storyline, completely unbelievable characters, massive plot holes...

Definitely watch it!

Cattyisbatty · 16/09/2024 16:55

Same! So bad it’s good 😆 I do love me some bad TV sometimes like Doctors - sometimes the plots are moving, sometimes they’re utter nonsense. Will miss it when it’s gone.

Omg yes, and we all fancied the sexy priest!!

Verv · 16/09/2024 16:59

Green Pot Noodles (already made several appearances on thread)
First Dates (the tv prog)

Any Goldie Hawn movie.

MorrisZapp · 16/09/2024 17:06

Chirpy scandi sounding dance hits of the 90s. There's one called Dam Di Da Doo which makes Whigfield sound like Radiohead and it is absolutely brilliant.

Toohotandsticky · 16/09/2024 17:18

Anjo2011 · 16/09/2024 16:22

Milk Tray are my go to for this kind of hit!

Loving the sunset beach comments too - we had a shrine to the sexy priest in my student flat! I haven't seen enough of doctors but it is essential viewing if off work sick. The Joe Pasquale episode which happened to air right at the start of covid was amazing and probably did a lot to bring people together in adversity.

Oooh speaking of music - Gangnam Style
🎶 🎵 ayy sexy lady.... op, op op oppa gangnam style...🎶

Cheesecakecookie · 16/09/2024 17:24

Pot noodle.
The rig I enjoyed but yes it was terrible.
Deadliest catch.

the80sweregreat · 16/09/2024 17:39

I gave up on ' the rig' programme
Lots of channel five dramas fall into this category though , sometimes I only watch for the threads on them on mumsnet !

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 16/09/2024 17:40

All channel 5 films, they're my guilty pleasure 😂

AdviceNeeded2024 · 16/09/2024 17:58

SparkyBlue · 16/09/2024 13:43

Blue Bloods. You can predict everything that will happen but it's bizarrely enjoyable

Yes! I particularly look forward to the moral lesson round the dinner table each episode. Especially if it is accompanied with what looks like a roast dinner paired with salad and cobs, and Franks burrowed brow 😂😂

I wasn't into the priest, I like the detective 😃
