When I feel very upset, something twinges quickly and sharply in my left arm. Just next to the inner elbow. No idea why.

What foibles does your body have?

There's about 1cm square of my right shoulder that itches all the time.

Spiderey · 17/09/2024 23:29

@Goatblu @WingBingo

Yes toothpaste!

Spiderey · 17/09/2024 23:31

I googled it and yes it's the chemicals in the toothpaste, apparently too harsh. Blimey!

BobbyBiscuits · 17/09/2024 23:35

My hip makes a noise and feels like popcorn or lots of ball bearings all rolling round in there and popping. Anyone can feel it easily by touching it. It only happens sometimes. The noise is quite loud too.
I think it's due to my hip surgery that's not quite bodged exactly, but hasn't really settled right. I've got a screw sticking out into my leg from the inside. And a big metal plate in there.
Call me Roboflop. Lol 🤣

goingtohellinahandcart · 17/09/2024 23:36

If I grab a snack like a cocktail sausage, slice of ham or cheese I frequently get painful hiccups, only seems to happen with high protein items.

Sometimes when I am just about to fall asleep, I get a really sudden, loud sound in my ears, like a very short SCHLOOOOOM noise (for want of a better description). It makes me jump and then I am wide awake again. It's sometimes accompanied by a half dream of falling off a pavement.

It's called exploding head syndrome, it's an audio-visual version of the physical jerks.
When I get it I get a lightning like flash as well.

MaMisled · 18/09/2024 00:39

If I become aware of even the slightest hurt, pain , upset, failure or embarrassment in my grown up DCs life, I get a shooting pain up my bum.

Ubugly · 18/09/2024 00:41

I can move my collar bone back and forth. Only one side.

Try night-time magnesium. And maybe check for if you are low on iron. I had RLS for 14 yrs since being pregnant. Since taking horse-pill sized magnesium combined with prescribed meds for anemia I no longer have RLS. Oh and doing stretches before bed helps too

I've got folate deficiency, just started taking folic acid. I will try magnesium as well

EngineEngineNumber9 · 18/09/2024 12:27

If I eat too many Skittles it makes me cough.

I think this is common but it winds me up - my nose gets tickly AF when I brush my teeth (electric brush).

@zen1 If I eat cheddar cheese, I get a pins and needles fizzing sensation in my cheeks (been having this over 40 years since I was a child). It happens less if the cheese is cooked.

I get the fizzing with some cheeses but it's at the sides of my nose and it sweats too!

I get an itchy roof of the mouth with strong cheddar, but not if it's cooked. Not with any other cheese, though.

Every change of season the lower middle of my left palm sheds its skin in a sheet thats about 1x1.5 inches in size.
I know when its coming because it starts to feel "thick", then one day after a shower i can peel the square off whole and its just fresh hand undernearth.
Just done it this week, i call it my seasonal stigmata.

When im really tired i get random flashes of itching that comes on really strong and almost pings around my body annoying me. Ill be about to sleep then my a point on my back will itch, then my foot, then somewhere on leg, then face, then then then, if it was lights it would be like a twinkly christmas tree. Really annoying.

My left thumb and pointy finger ache when rain is coming - not arthritis as its happened since i was a kid.

AubrieDog · 18/09/2024 18:34

Post menopausal now but when I was younger I always used to get achy knees for a couple of days just before my period started. It was like a grindy, creaky, rheumaticky aching and I never got it at any other time.

I get the back itch when I'm trying to go to sleep, just as @Verv describes. It always starts in the middle of my back but then pings around from shoulder blades, down my side, back up again, other side, back to the middle, on and on.

Dillydaydreams · 18/09/2024 19:06

I can move each of my toes independently of each other.

I can flare my nostrils.

I can Bend just the tops of my fingers.

I am 58 and can still do the splits.

Oh... another weird one, if there is any pressure applied to the inside of my bellybutton, I feel it in my vagina 😅 I can't be the only one? 🙈

Absolutely agree with the belly button... I assumed everyone did 🙊

AubrieDog · 16/09/2024 23:08

You're probably allergic to egg, that's a common response.

Completely misread the first bit of the post and thought you meant the knee issue was a common reaction to eggs and thought that was an interesting bit of info 🤦🏻‍♀️

LOL, sorry about that. Although there have been some very odd responses on this thread so you never know, there could be a link...😉

FlamingoFloss · 19/09/2024 00:08

I know when I have a urine infection because my fingers tingle

comeondover · 19/09/2024 00:33

Other members of my family say that beetroot makes their pee turn pink. It doesn't for me, it comes out the other way.

HighPrecisionGhosts · 19/09/2024 00:39

A long hair suddenly appears on my right side near my hip every 6 months.

Can be about 4 inches long.

shonapop · 19/09/2024 00:51

Telephone conversations often make me want to poo.
God knows why.

When I start a bath running, I need to poo.
I sneeze when I've eaten too much and when I look at the sun.

Carouselfish · 19/09/2024 00:53

Pain in either forearm whichI describe as feeling like trying to pass a pea through my vein.

NoOneKnowsWhoYouAre · 21/09/2024 19:47

Ladyof2024 · 16/09/2024 20:45

If anyone or anything touches the smaller of my back at exactly the point where the bum crack ends, I instantly pee. Even if I have just finished urinating I can bring out some more by touching myself on that spot.

Omg I need to pee if anyone touches there. Took me ages to train DH to avoid it!! 🤣

Yes, a hand in the wrong place during "doggie position" could set me off!
