Cue spooky music...

Is there anything you've read on here that's stuck with you, or you'd like to get to the bottom of?
I'd like to know what happened to the two Microsoft laptops which were delivered to a MN's daughter I think a week or two ago?
Also the woo one about the missing clock chains.

What are your unsolved MN mysteries?

Ok not so much a mystery, but I can't believe she just disappeared and I don't know why

Yolo12345 · 11/09/2024 22:22

I sometimes think about the lady, whose daughter was in a possible controlling relationship. He wanted to move to Ireland and isolate her daughter. He was grabby money-wise.

YesitsBess · 11/09/2024 22:27

@garlictest that's not the one I don't think, because lots of people were talking on the thread about that.

Bey · 11/09/2024 22:32

@Garlictest that's not from the thread I was thinking of. I listened to the upload and it was more like tinkly music not a child's voice singing a nursery rhyme.

Yes! This one immediately jumped to my mind as well.. plus the missing chains one!

Garlictest · 11/09/2024 22:39

Wow, there were TWO creepy night-time nursery broadcasts in the same month?? 👻👻 Who'da thunk it? @YesitsBess @Bey

Maybe it was a highly creative security company that went out of business, leaving only its freaky alarms behind ...

Spooky garden music thread. I have never stopped thinking about the deletion message.

What was this?! Please tell!

iFlaps · 11/09/2024 22:51

Spooky garden music thread is my roman empire, I got so excited by your link @Garlictest but it doesn't sound like the same thing. The audio clips were music rather than any singing and I recall the OP living somewhere pretty remote with few neighbours.
The deletion message was something along the lines of 'we've taken this down as the reality is far more disturbing /sinister'.

Yes the op in that thread said it sounded more gentle and tinkly like a jewellery box being opened from the bottom of their rural garden. The sinister/disturbing message just made me want to know the outcome even more!

Does anyone remember this one, I think it was posted by a male MNetter.
They were puzzled by a net or tarpaulin hung on their tree at the bottom of their garden by the people whose garden backed onto theirs, which was separated by a stream.
Was there a plausible conclusion to that thread if anyone does remember it?!

Oh yes I vaguely remember this one! Can't remember the outcome though.

Yes that's as I remember it too. And the creepy spider music was 2018, the creepy garden music was 2022? I was in the garden listening for hedgehogs at the time and we were only at that house for a year.

None of my hedgehogs payed music. Spooky or otherwise.

mechanicalpencil · 11/09/2024 23:04

There was one where a woman’s cat got stuck in an empty house where new owners had bought it but not yet finished moving in and she was feeding it ham through the air vents… the cat pissed on an expensive rug if I remember correctly.

Garlictest · 11/09/2024 22:08

Spooky garden music was solved! I assumed the OP had her thread deleted because she was all over the national media i the following days 👻

I don’t think that is the same situation. I recall the MN poster being out in the sticks.

Snowontheroof · 11/09/2024 23:06

I wonder if Babs and the allotment was a spoof. It was excellent however.

However I do worry about many of the posters on here whose problems are not resolved.

Grandfather clock one!

mechanicalpencil · 11/09/2024 23:14

And the poster who had a strange neighbour who groaned, grunted and barked like a dog. She could hear the noises from her garden.

imSatanhonest · 11/09/2024 23:21

The woman whose DH was in a cycling club who were followed around by a grown woman with pom poms - she would shake them & cheer when they rode past. She wasn't a gf or wife of any of the riders. The group were having some sort of party & pom pom lady turned up to it. Did the wife ever have a word with her, what became of it? Gave me a good chuckle that one!

Bbq1 · 11/09/2024 23:21

Did the allotment wars between the allotment owner and the neighbour claiming and using it without permission ever end?

Grandfather clock one!

Hmm. Nuts. However our grandfather clock, which was a present from my husband's maternal great-great grandfather to my husband's maternal great-grandfather stopped working on the exact day my husband's mother died. It had been working like a charm to that point and had been totally cleaned etc only a couple of years before.

So their's is not supernatural as ours is (LOL - like as if!) just exceedingly weird.

A poster called Legs (longer username but was shortened to Legs).
Her DH left her for a younger woman (who sounded awful and smug). She used to post every evening, for probably around 12 months, it helped her to get through it.
She started dating someone but called it off, if I recall, but stayed friends. She updated the tread on her kids each at different stages in life, starting uni, A levels, etc
But still often mentioning the exH and her feelings about that.
She literally posted every night. I often commented on her thread too. I'd read the update every day.
Then she stopped one night. Never came back. Ever. I always think of her

Me too. Often wonder how she’s getting on.

Moonlightdust · 11/09/2024 23:28

Definitely Birdy friend, the unfriendly villagers who plotted to scare/drive away newcomers & the thread was supposedly removed for legal reasons, Spooky garden music, GREG (green eyed gardener) - last I read they had got married and had a baby together? (I hope they’re still together!) the missing grandfather clock chains… There’s loads more. Most of the really juicy ones that I save to follow end up being deleted! 🤦‍♀️

HowDairy · 11/09/2024 23:31

Someone please tell me about Birdy friend!

Definitely the missing ironing board !
Also did the op ever get a date with the green eyed gardener ?
