Anybody remember this song?

I was early teens and thought it was the most amazing, perfect and romantic song I'd ever heard in my life 🤣 The video was easy on the eye too.

I suddenly remembered it recently and searched for it on YouTube. Was surprised that it had nowhere near the effect on me...in fact none😂

Just really interested if anyone here remembers when it came out, how they felt at the time and how they feel now when they listen to it!

Sad to hear Squeeze were bad as I like a lot of songs / lyrics which are quite clever

I am in my early(ish!) thirties and bloody love this song!

I don't have any memories of it being released, but Tabby from xfactor sang a cover of it when i was a teenager. I loved it so much that I then found the origional and have loved it ever since!

I also don't think it is about sex. Just actions speak louder than words.

I saw the same line up at Wembley - I love Squeeze, their song writing is fantastic. They weren't bad at Wembley (I can't comment on Maine Road as I wasn't there) but they weren't a great fit for the rest of the bill.
Most of the crowd were either after a load of ballards (More than words, Everything I do) or interested in the rockier side of Bryan /Extreme and Squeeze just didn't gel with the rest of the line up. They hadn't just had a huge 'hear it everywhere hit' like the other two and they weren't rocky enough for the rock crowd. I've since seen Squeeze a couple of times and they don't disappoint.

My boyfriend at the time was the absolute double of Gary Cherone and he bought the album for me. We used to listen to it all the time.

Three decades later, we're still together but he looks less like Gary and the lyrics are problematic.

Eek I've been trying to remember who the other band on the bill where so I've looked it up and it was Little Angels so another in the rock with the odd ballard genre so Squeeze really were a strange inclusion to the line up.
Most shocking was the ticket was £20 for a 4 act line up at Wembley, headlined by one of the 'biggest' names at the time. An inflation calculator tells me the equivalent value now is about £43. Take not Oasis!

I loved this song. And I think it was where I first realised that long haired boys were my cup of tea.

Just found this thread OP. Still love the song, it was first boyfriend territory that summer and it brings back very fond memories. I had the Mr Big album too on cassette and edged a bit further into rock/metal with multiple Thunder albums. Happy days, off to add them to my Spotify list.
