No, but I stopped buying Dyson products when he turned out to be such a twat.

Knowing someone’s political views and seeing them actively campaigning for something you think is a disaster are very different things.

I'm in the one in Dublin, really nice.
I had burger and chips and a liqueur.
Table service as well so I don't have to interact with anyone.

Their fruit and yoghurt medley is delicious and dogs aren't allowed in . Absolutely fabulous.

Love wetherspoons. Usually have 3 of the small plates for £14.95 (I think) Nachos, halloumi fries, chicken bites and a pint of strawberry and lime cider, so good 😋 Incidentally, the most beautiful Wetherspoons I've ever been to is the one in Edinburgh.

Apparently Wetherspoons is taking over one of the very old and long neglected Victorian buildings in our town. Most people I've spoken about it to are really pleased because it means the building will be preserved (there was a fear it would be torn down and made into yet more flats).

The new one? @StarvingMarvin222 the one in Blanch is not at all nice so I haven't been.

Prices are better than almost everywhere else and you can get a burger on a plate!

I do like a good Wetherspoons - reasonable wine at good prices and DH likes the beer

Their bean chilli is always good.

An acquaintance of mine is a Spoons regular. He describes it as spending time "behind enemy lines"! 😁

There is a difference though between not knowing the politics of a business owner and seeing their big red shiny face all over the place banging on about how great Brexit was going to be.

I love a 'spoons but the five mile hike to the loos seems to be a special feature to most of them..

They do seem to be quite variable, don't they?

Apparently the carpet pattern is different in every single 'Spoons, people travel to visit and check the carpets out!

My favourite 'spoons fact is each has its own carpet designed and made in Britain bespoke to that particular pub. And that the design considers the building and it's architecture or local area or something

I still remember the outrage over how staff were treated during Covid and how people would never go there again.

I love going for an early breakfast at Spoons, around opeing time. It's faster than McDonalds for serving food and the traditional breakfast is just right to set you up for the day.

I don’t think many businesses had much choice when it came to lockdown: with no money coming through the tills, how do you pay tens of thousands of staff their wages for even a week, let alone several months? Business owners could have used their own personal wealth and it wouldn’t have touched the sides.

I thought that was proven to be untrue.
They pay above minimum wage and not rates for your ages ( at least from 18 I believe).
Allow you to transfer to one nearer your university and back for holidays, brilliant discount too.
Family friend is full time and a supervisor at 20 making quite good money she likes their job and is actually treated with respect.
I like a pint and the beer is excellent and lots of different breweries.
