M&S haddock kyivs, new potatoes with lots of butter and sea salt with baby corn + mange tout. Simple but very nice!

lemonyellows · 04/09/2024 14:27

Yesterday was chicken souvlaki, tzatziki, salad and pitta. Guess who's missing their holiday still 😂

Chelsea26 · 04/09/2024 14:32

Last night we had one pan Tuscan chicken orzo which is a real favourite.

Tonight it’s Taco Wednesday!

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 04/09/2024 14:33

Last night was pork fillet cut into strips in a stirfry with noodles.

Tonight is omelettes (various fillings) with salad & chips

Bluebellsinthewind · 04/09/2024 14:33

These all sound lush.

@lemonyellows my first thought about your post was holiday vibes 🤣

@CherryValley5 you should work for M&S advertising, I want to eat that just now.

@Forgottenmyphone that's a new recipe for me, sounds lovely. How do you make the hassle back?

@Turnitoffnonagain I've never made risotto before as it looks really difficult. It's on my winter list to try though.

Not sure yet what we are having tonight. Maybe smoked haddock with mash and broccoli.

A bowl of porridge with blueberries. It was just me and it was what I fancied (twas lush!)

Smittenkitchen · 04/09/2024 14:33

Potato salad with mint and dill, coleslaw, tuna mayo.
Probably seems more like a lunch but I'm in a hot country where lunch is the more substantial meal.

AnchorWHAT · 04/09/2024 14:36

DH made sea bass in a butter wine vinegar and caper sauce with roasted home grown potatoes and home grown green beans.

Floralnomad · 04/09/2024 14:36

M&S chicken and leek pie , broccoli and carrots .

wildthingsinthenight · 04/09/2024 14:38

OP you had brinner!!

I had a jacket potato with beans and cheese..food of the Gods😊

ViciousCurrentBun · 04/09/2024 14:43

I had a lasagne, I always make a deliberately huge one so that I can freeze some of it or have it for two days in a row. So we just had it for lunch. Last night was with veg and today was with a side salad.

Risotto honestly isn’t difficult - just takes a while with lots of stirring! Worth the effort though. If you’re a haddock fan I do a haddock, pea, leek and parmesan one. It is delicious

That's a new word, will need to remember it Grin

Love baked potato, maybe not with beans and cheese as that's a bit squishy. Cheese and colslaw for me 😋

Tesco beef steak medallion for like £3.15
I fried it, in butter, nice and rare. Stuck a thin slice of cheddar on top as it rested and put a fried egg on top with a runny yolk.

I ate it with nothing else. No chips or veg or mash, nothing.. it was beautiful.. 😁

longdistanceclaraclara · 04/09/2024 14:47

Growing up we always had a fry up in a Friday night. Loved it. Am going to add it to the shopping list for next week now.

Last night we had chilli and rice. Tonight it's crispy pork pho.

Simplepink · 04/09/2024 14:50

to got is a veggie tomato pasta sauce with linguine and grated cheese

StarGirrrl77 · 04/09/2024 14:50

These are all very posh. I'm with you, OP. Sausage, egg and chips 👌

Notmydaughteryoubitch · 04/09/2024 14:52

My DD's last day of summer holidays yesterday and she requested green Mac n Cheese - it's the standard bechamel sauce but I whizz up any green veg that I have around into the sauce (last night was spinach, sauteed leeks and peas) served with peas and some of the leeks - was bloody lovely and great way of getting greens into my DD.

Tonight is veg stir fry I think or lentil dhal - haven't quite decided yet.

Gumbo · 04/09/2024 14:52

Chicken paella - cooked by 18yo DS who is about to go off to uni and is learning new recipes and practicing his cooking skills. It was lovely!
