Are you a morning or evening showerer?

Got into a lighthearted debate about this…the evening showerers say it’s unclean to get into bed after not washing all day. The morning showerers say it’s better to start the day as clean as possible, not many hours after your last shower.

Usually an evening shower...unless I go for an early morning run, then I'll shower after that (once a week).

Dolliesdisasterousdayout · 03/09/2024 10:28

Depends. Morning after the gym and/or evening if after a class.

longdistanceclaraclara · 03/09/2024 10:29

Morning, unless I've been to the gym or need to leave early in the morning.

PivotPivotmakingmargaritas · 03/09/2024 10:30

Evening hate the idea of getting into bed sweaty and gross from the day

CaptainCabinetsTrappedInCabinets · 03/09/2024 10:30

When I feel dirty.

MrsSkylerWhite · 03/09/2024 10:30

Morning bath.

Seacatt · 03/09/2024 10:31

Usually morning.

Cobblersorchard · 03/09/2024 10:31

Morning. I don’t feel right in the day otherwise. But if I had more time I’d have an evening one too. But rarely do.

When I WFH I sometimes have a lazy lunchtime one though instead, gives me a lie in and I can take as long as I like!

squeakandbubble · 03/09/2024 10:31

Morning, I hate the idea of seeing people not smelling and looking as fresh as possible!

LightDrizzle · 03/09/2024 10:32

This thread is bound to be flooded with people horrified you don’t shower at least twice a day! I’ve got the words “rank” and “grim” down on my bingo sheet.

I’m a morning shower person, I don’t feel alive or hygienic until I’ve had a morning shower. For the same reason I don’t do pyjama days as I just feel grotty. Also I prefer to be in a bra which seems to place me in a minority.

Morning bath.

Well look at you, Madame Luxury, having a morning bath! (That’s a joke, I should have included bathing).

Both, every day. Morning after the loo then evening when I get in so I can feel relaxed in something clean and comfy.

SummerInSun · 03/09/2024 10:33

Morning. Usually exercise in the morning so after that, but even if not, would always shower in the morning to feel fresh for the day. But if I've exercised in the evening, or if it's been a hot day and I want to cool down, also an evening shower. Just love a shower and just love feeling properly clean. Can't understand people who find it an annoying chore and say "you don't need a shower every day". Yes you do you!!!

Illpickthatup · 03/09/2024 10:33

It depends. I shower every evening before bed. I Iike to get into my bed clean and be fresh for bedroom activities.

I work from home so usually won't shower in the morning but if I'm going out or it's the weekend I'll shower both morning and evening.

GigiAnnna · 03/09/2024 10:34

I do both. I feel sticky at the end of the day and I'm sweaty when I get up. I normally have a quick morning bath and my daughter gets in the water after me.

mychilddeservesaneducation · 03/09/2024 10:35

Generally morning if I've just been sat in the office all day. If it's been particularly hot, I've used suncream (sticky), exercised or visited a big city (I'm a country lass so I always feel a bit grubby after an urban outing!), then I'll shower before bed.

AuntieMarys · 03/09/2024 10:36

I do both in the summer...couldn't go to bed with suncream on. However I can shower and wash my hair in 5 minutes

CrushingOnRubies · 03/09/2024 10:36

At the weekend/ when not working shower in the morning
Sunday evening bath
Week days when I have work shower in the evening

Comedycook · 03/09/2024 10:38

I shower in the evening....I like to go to bed feeling clean. I'm a sahm and most days I'm pottering around doing house work, cooking, shopping etc. If I'm doing something else though like socialising, appointments etc then I will shower in the morning too.

Gemstonebeach · 03/09/2024 10:40

Usually morning. I’d like to be an evening showerer to have more time in the morning but I have to wash my hair every couple of days and it is a terrible mess in the morning even if properly blow dried if I do it before bed.

OldTinHat · 03/09/2024 10:41

Morning!

stackhead · 03/09/2024 10:42

Morning in the summer because of being sweaty in bed, Evening in the winter so I can get warm before putting PJs on and relaxing into the evening.

NewKnickersNewName · 03/09/2024 10:43

The exH used to prefer me to smell of "the scent of complete womanhood". He must have read that in a book somewhere. So I showered in the morning.

andymary · 03/09/2024 10:45

On a work day, in the morning - being as it's natural and common to sweat whilst sleeping, and I don't want to be going to work after going through 8 hours of that.
On a non-work day or weekend, it's more afternoon/evening time.

icebearforpresident · 03/09/2024 10:45

Evening. I’m not a morning person and the 10 or 15 minutes I would be in the shower plus another 10 or 15 drying and styling my hair is valuable time where I could still be sleeping.

If it’s a day off or the weekend I’ll have a shower in the morning after breakfast once I have built myself up (ie drank at least 3 cups of tea) to face the day.
