Do you remember your past lives?

I remember two of mine.

I was just in a yoga class and a man there was telling me that he remembers all of his past lives.

I think it's so so interesting!

Should you not be in heaven?

Maybe she came back to another life?

I don't believe in past lives because I don't think there's any support to suggest we have a soul (/pick your own alternative name for a conceptual self) that is separable from our physical self, and I assume this is a prerequisite for reincarnation. I also don't understand why humans would have souls but not e.g. woodlice and if there were souls how one would manage the every varying number of beings, when presumably for reincarnation to occur there are a finite number of souls. I also then wonder why plants don't have souls, especially if e.g. woodlice do, and what defines what does and doesn't get a soul, and the practical difficulties that would then pose around eating things - is it okay to eat things with a soul? I'd be genuinely interested in any explanations for how either the separable soul or indeed any other questions.

But I do have recurring dreams about being on the run and people trying to kill me, so I imagine if I did believe in past lives, I should think this is indicative of one of those lines.

Indeed. She's the Queen of Heaven.

But only if she's Catholic!

How could you top being Mater Dei? Or do next lives go down as well as up?

Maybe you would just want to experience lots of different experiences .

Why do just one experience?

I'm sorry. I accept no other religion.😉
Seriously, maybe the Protestants would think something else would be better.

I was Mary in a previous life.

I remember being in deep grief and shock hearing the crowd around me baying for my son to be killed, and watching him pass with the cross bearing down on him, and being powerless to help him. It was a searing flashing glimpse- I was Mary and my son was Jesus

Interesting.

Do you remember much more about it.

Why did they hate him? He hadn't done anything wrong. I guess maybe it was just a barbaric time.

Why couldn't you Do anything? We're you being held back?

He was a threat to the Romans. They thought he would start a rising.
Like the People's Popular Front for the Liberation of Judea, or the Judean Peoples' Popular Front.

So there's a choice before the Men in Black wipe your memory?

Why did some people choose to come as slaves, to be born into abject poverty, as psychopaths etc?

KateDelRick · 22/08/2024 20:15

@Ineffable23 is that a sign of a past life, or a guilty conscience?

I definitely don't know all the answers.

Maybe to help at those times?

Maybe they wanted to learn deep lessons?

Maybe there are only so many good rich wealthy lives to go around, and if you've had one in another lifetime, maybe now it's your turn to be poor, and to let another soul experience being wealthy?

I don't know. No one knows all the answers.

I couldn't prevent what was happening to him. My flashback was of profound disbelieving shock at how the crowd turned on him, the strength of feeling against him. And that I wasn't a deity, I was very human. Ive had one other flashback to the time before I was His mother. Was wax a slim brown skinned somewhat dirty girl wearing a tunic. Very grounded and solid. Completely human. I never asked to be put on a pedestal as the Catholic church did. I couldn't save anyone from anything.

PubicZirconia · 22/08/2024 20:17

I actually do have some odd memories (?) Of being on a boat with sails, and having bare feet on a very cold stone floor.None of which I can relate to.

However....one of our cats just died which got my 8 year old thinking...he now says he was JFK and he remembers being killed.

He then asked for an ice lolly.

It's definitely a good question.

I was born into poverty and into a very abusive family in this lifetime.

And I have thought many times , why did I choose this life.

Did I want to learn empathy for others? Are there only so many wealthy snd loving families to go around and someone has to take the bad lives? Did I volunteer as someone has to be born into these families.Did I want to learn the deep hard lessons?

I don't know. But next life I want an easier life!

KateDelRick · 22/08/2024 20:15

I don't know what I'd have a guilty conscience for! Obviously I don't live the most moral life I could - if I did, I'd sell my house, move to a studio flat or similar so I had the cheapest life possible, not run a car, not buy any new clothes, go on holiday, out for dinner etc and would then donate all my money to charity. Or possibly just compost myself. But I certainly live a life totally within normal moral standards and have never done anything that the general population would regard as immoral I don't think. I guess I have accidentally broken the speed limit a couple of times.

Joystir59 · 22/08/2024 20:23

Even though this isn't happening now, and all I have are the smallest occasional glimpses, to reflect on it makes me feel very sad and anxious

SparklyJadeFawn · 22/08/2024 20:24

Joystir59 · 22/08/2024 20:21

Because he was the son of God. It was too too much.

I think it was also that he was a very light advanced being, and they were in a lot of darkness, and darkness is jealous of and attacks the lighter better people.
