Do you remember your past lives?

I remember two of mine.

I was just in a yoga class and a man there was telling me that he remembers all of his past lives.

I think it's so so interesting!

I don’t believe in it, myself.
I’m persuaded that the Biblical concept that we are “appointed to die once and then the judgement” is the way things really are.

That's fine.

Surely it should be me who decides my own personal experiences, not you.

I'm a firm believer in past lives

Sadly no, not when it comes to limits of the human condition, we’re all bound by that.

But flying free in your imagination 👍

Again.

In YOUR opinion.

Not mine.

I've talked to loads of people who remember past lives.

Why comment at all?

Nobody knows 100% what happens when we die. Do you often make fun of people that hold a different opinion to you?

SparklyJadeFawn · 22/08/2024 18:38

I didn't really want to argue on this thread with people who don't believe in past lives. If you don't believe in them it's fine.

This thread was really for people who do believe in past lives, to share any memories they have of them

If I’ve never had any dreams about past lives, does that mean I’m the original? Or was I goldfish or something and that’s why I can’t remember anything?

Mate, I don't remember why I walked into a room.

Jesus you and me both

Smartiepants79 · 22/08/2024 18:45

I’m with you on this one @theduchessofspork. Nothing happens to us when we die. Because we’ve died.
Do you all believe all your dreams are real things? My DD had a great one last night. She was being forced to take part in a world wide game of hide and seek. If you got caught you died.

SparklyJadeFawn · 22/08/2024 18:45

Another interesting thing I've experienced.

My mum got hypnotised and spoke about a past life.

My dad was interested in past lives and spirituality. My mum wasn't a bit interested in it.

They went to a crafts and spiritual fair before I Was born. There was a past life hypnotist there at the fair.

My dad decided to try to get hypnotised and apparently my dad couldn't get hypnotised as he couldn't relax enough.

The hypnotist asked my mum if she wanted to try it. My mum agreed to it "for a laugh". As she said, she thought it was a bit of a joke that it was just a bit of a laugh.

She said that she didn't think anything would happen at all

Next thing she got fully hypnotised. And she talked for ages. And they recorded the session.

And we still have a cassette tape now, of her fully talking in depth about a past life in England.

She talks in great detail about what is happening in her life on the tape. Its really interesting!

Well in the opinion of anyone who takes scientific evidence into account.

You wouldn’t trust someone to cure your cancer through faith healing would you? It’s the same thing.

It’s just stuff going on in your brain, which is grand.

AnywhereAnyoneAnyTime · 22/08/2024 18:29

It’s all nonsense.

If you’ve had reams about other countries etc it’s because you’ve heard of them, even in the smallest way e.g. through a radio programme or to or something you might have seen printed somewhere.

There’s no such thing as a past life. You’re born, you die, and it’s over.

Agreed, anyone who seriously buys into this sort of claptrap has a very overactive imagination and a questionable grasp on reality.

As I said already, it wasn't just dreams.

I've had dreams of a previous life. And I've also had memories of that life, while I was awake.

Past lives you hear people discussing are either interesting, noble or very recent history. The reality of humanity is that we were uggs for millennia, nobody says they were a lumbering primitive…

Why be so aggressive about it though? FFS.

Two men were talking to me about their past lives in my recent mediation class.

I thought it was interesting and I politely listened.

I didn't shout a them and say "you have a questionable grasp on reality".

Even if you don't believe in it, why on earth be so aggressive to people who do?

I think I saw glimpses of one. It was when I met someone. We shook hands and when I looked into their eyes we both froze. Time went really weird.

Later I realised a lot more. It was a sad story not a happy one.

This gave me chills. I can understand if you don't want to say more but I'm intrigued.

Neither of my past lives were particularly interesting.

Also when my mum was hypnotised to a past life, her past life was pretty mundane.

It was still really interesting to me though as I was hearing about what day to day life was like in the victorian era

Do you believe in God op?
If not, then what's this past lives business?
If you're not spiritual enough to open your third eye which cannot be done without belief in God, then what you are dreaming of is all the TV that you've watched over your lifetime and googling.

ChaToilLeam · 22/08/2024 18:51

Were you speaking Russian in your dream and can you remember any now?

Oreosandwich · 22/08/2024 18:56

I had a dream I was having sex and my vulva fell off. The man I was with got really angry, picked it up and threw it at the wall.

Now was that a past life memory or just a dream?

TransformerZ · 22/08/2024 18:57

It means you can't have sex again.

OMG you were a model for Picasso!!

SparklyJadeFawn · 22/08/2024 19:01

Any one else at all have any past life memories?

I've met so many people in life who happily chat away about their past lives. I'm so used to just chatting away about them

It definitely seems to be different vibe on mumsnet so far

FFS let people believe in what they want nothing wrong in it.
I believe we born we live we die we restart again born different setting.
My nan always says what you do in this life will catch you in the next one be good.
One of my friends say if you are drawn to a part in history you was most likely there.
