all year to save up enough money for a well earned camping in the uk holiday when your 15yr car breaks down 200 miles from home and you have to put a tent up in the rain, cancel activities that cost up to £600 and go in to debt because the car needs fixing.

It’s fucking shit

That's so shitty OP. I'm really sorry. I'm sure you just wanted to cry. I've no words of comfort for you but I hope your luck changes and something good is coming your way.

Well most people tell someone to enjoy their pity party in jest and as a lighthearted joke so I assumed that would be obvious. Won’t assume next time the same as you shouldn’t assume someone is being mean (when they are not)

enjoy their pity party

And its ilk have only ever been said to me angrily by someone flouncing. I would never have cconsidered it a jest, ever.

Ok 🤷‍♀️ you’ve had it said angrily to you, I’ve heard it several times jokingly. Different experiences. I’ve already said I meant it with a LOL. Just because you didn’t get it said jokingly to you doesn’t mean everyone means anything by it….. I meant “enjoy your pity party” LOL!!

You’re really doubling down on this…A lot of people cover this sort of thing up as ‘bants’ or ‘can’t you take a joke’, when they’re just being snarky and don’t want to be called up on it.

’this sort of thing’ ?? I wasn’t being snarky at all, it was a comment as a joke. Obviously the wrong audience because you’re insinuating it’s something it wasn’t.
