all year to save up enough money for a well earned camping in the uk holiday when your 15yr car breaks down 200 miles from home and you have to put a tent up in the rain, cancel activities that cost up to £600 and go in to debt because the car needs fixing.

Well obviously it depends on what policy you've chosen, but as far as I have seen when I've been buying insurance, most annual travel insurance policies which cover your for Europe or Worldwide include travel within the UK. Mine does.
