all year to save up enough money for a well earned camping in the uk holiday when your 15yr car breaks down 200 miles from home and you have to put a tent up in the rain, cancel activities that cost up to £600 and go in to debt because the car needs fixing.

Car’s still broken. We have a mobile RAC mechanic coming out tomorrow to hopefully fix it. Alternator 🙄

Hopefully we’ll be up and running by lunchtime and we can salvage some of our activity in the afternoon.

It’s pretty common and normal to stay with the broken down car. Even if you were local and had no extra kit. You can’t just abandon it.

i live in suburban London and there are many roads here which don’t even have a bus - it just goes around the outside of the suburb
