Blake Lively, RR & It Ends With Us drama

Have worked for Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds in the UK, they are ...erm not my favourite slebs to work with. BL can be nasty to staff, her I'm all for women thing would be great, if she wasn't awful to them in reality. RR sometimes apologetically, always sides with BL, as his wife.
However, she does have 4 young DCs, so has spent much of the last decade pregnant, or post partum, which is enough to make anyone tired and therefore appear 'difficult'.

As I am senior in my role, stars have to treat me with some decency. Even so, the mask slips, I do everything I can to make their time in the UK as comfortable as possible, whilst placating the staff they upset, I will not work with them if I can avoid it.

Justin Baldoni directed It Ends With Us, I do not know JB.

Anti JB side (note there isn't much information about what JB has done wrong):
• He was difficult on set.
• He was acting and directing, diluting his ability to do both.
• He has hired a the firm of PR crisis manager who helped to improve Johnny Depp's image during the Amber Heard trial.
• JB has a pro 'good' men podcast called Man Enough, largely it is positive. Unfortunately he had Drake Bell on the podcast and did not question his accountability for previous SA.

Anti BL side:
• BL is trying to give the film a Barbie moment, encouraging audiences, for a film about DV, to wear florals.
• BL has objected to two things; she says JB fat-shamed her on set and, in one scene kissed her for too long (no suggestion that the kiss itself was inappropriate e.g. tongue).
• BL & RR made a cut of the film, which emphasises the rom-com of the story, rather than the DV.
• BL has corralled the author, Colleen Hoover and the cast to 'unfollow' JB on social media.
• RR rewrote a scene for the film without being asked by the director in doing so, RR broke the writer's strike.
• The cast have not been doing any press or standing on the red carpet at the premieres with JB.
• BL is using the film promo to also promote her new hair brand.

It may be that JB was a massive a-hole, or it may be that BL was a 'mean girl' and used her considerable power to influence the rest of the cast to be unpleasant to JB.
The truth could lie somewhere in the middle.

This is everything I know, I did not work on the film, or the promotion of it, so far.
I am able to agree that I have direct experience of seeing what BL and RR are like IRL, whereas I do not have the same experience of JB.
I'm prepared to accept that JB is the villain here.
I do not have any further information about this situation, if any comes my way I will, without breaking my contractual obligations, write about it here.

PPs have mentioned hypocrisy and smugness, and I think that's bang on.

That she is teetotal but will flog booze to us mere idiots really grates. RR has jumped the shark in his humour and tweets. It's really grating.

I think sometimes she comes across well, i found this speech made me warm to her as a person. It felt sincere, and that she is genuinely using her status too raise awareness. I dont rate her as an actress, so I felt her passion and emotion was very real.

I think if you’re a famous well paid celebrity, you must get used to bring centre of attention and for people to say yes to you all the time, easy to become an arsehole I reckon.

I do think it’s a bit of storm in a tea cup. I mean she was a bit off in a couple of interviews.

But no one ever says anything about Meryl Streep giving Roman Polanski a standing ovation or Kate Winslet working with him. I remember being a teen and being totally shocked to see RP was the director of a film I had watched which had starred Winslet. Never really seen KW the same tbh. They are so sanctimonious and get on their soap boxes at the drop of a hat. The hypocrisy is astounding.

I think she comes off badly in a few interviews but I’m also surprised by it as other actors / actresses come across worse and get away with it. I wonder if it’s because the project was so big and the book so loved? (I have not read it, but I have read that the book itself is problematic for spoiler reasons I won’t get into!)

Maybe it’ll be like the Don’t Worry Darling scandal - it blew over. No one cares anymore. This is likely to be the same as that, I wonder?

The media are all over her, what did she do to get them up against her? She must have pissed off the wrong person.

I know others that have had similar experiences to you @notallbloom with BL. It makes me sad as I want her to be nice! I now tell the person not to tell me if someone that I admire is not nice!

I get major major creepy vibes from RR; he's unbelievably false, his ever so humble nice guy persona is just too much.

I think he's a different guy behind closed doors. Actually worries me for his wife.

HW is full of hypocrites but the ones all about the craft do get away with it more. As I said it’s harder when you try & sell your image.

To the best of my knowledge, if RR rewrote or edited a scene in a movie that his wife was working on while the writers strike was going on, so long as no work was being done using said scene (no filming, rehearsing and so on) he could edit that scene till the cows come home.
All it would take for whatever he was doing would be to have another edit to it when the strike was over, to make that the version that was used in the movie and not anything he could have been doing during the writers strike. It's a very grey area and not in the least bit murky but nothing could be proven that it was the scene he allegedly wrote/rewrote during the strike.

That's interesting especially if JB has engaged Johnny Depp's PR people. Check out the 'Who Trolled Amber?' podcast on this as it's fascinating. Don't care about taking sides with Amber/Johnny but it's very interesting on the boys and social media stuff.

I once read a detailed analysis of the 'work' she has done. She's basically had everything. Her face as we see it is a surgeon's creation.
