What one item makes your life a bit nicer?

I have just read a thread about making life easier. It's always meal planning and household appliances.

Anyway it got me thinking whilst having a shower... I love my Bluetooth shower speaker. Being able to listen to my own music in the shower is great.

I don't need it. I can obviously live without it but I really love that little thing!

I also have dogs. I think it's a given that animals and children bring joy.

You have to recommend something to make life nicer.

What are you choosing? Smile

Heated throw definitely! I use it all the time. It's so cosy and has made such a difference to how comfortable I feel working from home in the winter as well as saving loads on gas and electricity.

I like the coffee idea! Do the chilly’s flasks keep the coffee hot all night then? I never knew that! I’m off to dig mine out ready to try in the morning!

Yes it does! 😊
Enjoy

After my children and cats, my earphones. I constantly listen to podcasts, audiobooks and the radio when I can. I don't really watch much TV.

My Berkefeld water filter. The water here makes shit tea, really horrible, now we have nice pure tea with no scum on top. Bliss.

treacledan71 · 09/08/2024 21:27

My tumble dryer. A really good one I got black Friday years ago. Saves me tons of ironing.

onwardandupwards · 09/08/2024 21:27

Our pet mice, its lovely watching them with play with loo rolls, digging in the sawdust and taking treats from us. They are very intelligent little creatures and just watching them play and chase each other makes me smile. Lovely thread idea x

My iron. I iron a lot and it just makes it enjoyable

Candle that I love the smell of - My top tip is lighting a candle and cracking on with after dinner clean up in the kitchen. Supermkarket own Lime, Basil and something smells like holidays to me in the evening time. When it’s all done, a lovely candle just sets the scene

My diffuser with The White Company fragrance oil ‘Seychelles’ and ‘Spa’. They smell so nice and relaxing

A lovely dressing gown

Good quality electric toothbrush

As someone else said, a pedicure all year round

Nice, crisp white sheets

My new car

Alexa in my bedroom and the kitchen. I love it - ADHD so like that I can set instant reminders when I’m thinking of it, add stuff to a shopping list as soon as it’s in my head, that sort of thing. Plus, she plays Smooth Chill!

Softdressesandblouses · 09/08/2024 21:28

yy to heated throw. I use mine all year round - I get very cold after swimming (summer) and totally rely on snuggling up under it afterwards. Winter months, used daily, as standard.

A sink waste dispenser thing. We have 2 sinks, one we chuck food waste in and it disappears. If I'm in a friends house or holiday home I get irritated by it's absence.

A big extendable table. We open two or three times a year for special occasions. Worth every penny.

Under tile heating mat in our ensuite. It doesn't heat the room as such but makes bathroom tiles lovely and warm. I always need to pee at night and even in my half sleep state I always think how lucky I am to have this luxury.

@Alalalalalongalalalalalonglonglilong

the bathroom heating mat sounds lovely!!

im sorry to say this, but do you know how bad for the waste water processing your insinkerator is?! (Clue: really really really bad!!)

threestars · 09/08/2024 21:32

the robot vacuum cleaner. I bought on prime day. Oh my goodness, I love seeing it work so hard when all I have to do is lift stuff off the floor. It reminds me how much I dislike using the upright one.
Also 6 weekly hair appointments and the occasional facial. Lucious!

Ilovemyshed · 09/08/2024 21:33

A properly decent mattress and pillows, good quality sheets and duvet.
Coffee machine in my bedroom.
Powerful digital shower
Nice quality toiletries
My car
My husband

SheUltra · 09/08/2024 21:33

@Moonshine5 for the spiky mat? I just got one from Aldi. It's fine!

Audible. Housework no longer interrupts my reading
Kindle just reading
Lip filler and Botox makes me look better
White company spa hand wash
New socks
Revitalash. Works a treat long thick eyelashes and lasts way longer than it says
Sorry some of these are a bit vain

AlisonDonut · 09/08/2024 21:35

My rechargeable fan.
Hammock
Bluetooth headphones
And recently: My potters wheel.

TheHistorian · 09/08/2024 21:35

My Ninja Smoothie maker - fresh pineapple, frozen banana and some coconut water. Quick, low calorie, filling brekkie on the go.

upinaballoon · 09/08/2024 21:38

My fountain pen. I don't use it much but I can if I want to!

Choosing which mug to use for elevenses.

I was very drawn to the thought of the many-thread sheet. I'd better google!

Saggyknockers · 09/08/2024 21:40

My M&S waffle dressing gown. It feels so cosy after a hot shower.

Toomuchleopard · 09/08/2024 21:41

Velvetiser is really easy to clean, it’s just an empty metal pot. I think it’s worth the money @SheUltra go for it.

NameChangeAndLifeChange · 09/08/2024 21:41

Bra extender

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 09/08/2024 21:41

middleagedandinarage · 09/08/2024 21:41

Aww I love this thread, has totally relaxed me.
Nice coffee and chocolate for me but I feel like I need some of these things in my life

IWanderedLonely · 09/08/2024 21:42

Cheese- ideally extra mature cheddar, but any cheese will do.

TylerEndicott · 09/08/2024 21:42

Meaco fans, they really bounce cool air around the room
Cordless lawnmower, no more trailing an extension lead around and trying to avoid running it over

SecretWitch · 09/08/2024 21:43

My little electric fireplace. So cosy to have my tea and book whilst watching the flames.

whengodwasarabbit1 · 09/08/2024 21:44

Chai tea
St eval candles
Good bubble bath
Nicking my daughters massive squishmallow for a pillow
