What one item makes your life a bit nicer?

I have just read a thread about making life easier. It's always meal planning and household appliances.

Anyway it got me thinking whilst having a shower... I love my Bluetooth shower speaker. Being able to listen to my own music in the shower is great.

I don't need it. I can obviously live without it but I really love that little thing!

I also have dogs. I think it's a given that animals and children bring joy.

You have to recommend something to make life nicer.

What are you choosing? Smile

My chaise longue.

SheUltra · 09/08/2024 21:05

These are so lovely.

I might have to invest in an egg chair! That sounds great. Also hopefully would remain dog free!

Wireless active noise cancelling headphones 🎧 Currently on holiday and thought I wouldn't want to use them so left them at home. I miss them!

TV in the bedroom...I'm a bit of an introvert and I often escape in there to watch some TV in peace!

Oh yes whoever said the acupressure mat (I can't quote as it's quoting a quote apparently) is so right. Total game changer for backache and tension headaches.

BeyondMyWits · 09/08/2024 21:08

Our electric recliner sofa that also has USB charger ports. Game changer... 4 people, phones, devices etc so easy.

A sink waste dispenser thing. We have 2 sinks, one we chuck food waste in and it disappears. If I'm in a friends house or holiday home I get irritated by it's absence.

A big extendable table. We open two or three times a year for special occasions. Worth every penny.

Under tile heating mat in our ensuite. It doesn't heat the room as such but makes bathroom tiles lovely and warm. I always need to pee at night and even in my half sleep state I always think how lucky I am to have this luxury.

Yes I have a cheap one and it's really good!

My cat, hands down! He brightens every day

Arraminta · 09/08/2024 21:09

My Range Rover Vogue. It's like driving around in your own private 5* hotel. For the first time in my life I actually look forward to driving.

@SheUltra any particular brand?

Sunbird24 · 09/08/2024 21:13

Second the double egg chair, and underfloor heating! Adding in the chap I pay to cut the grass - I totally could do it myself, but as I live on my own it’s nice to remember that i don’t have to while I’m doing everything else.

Also, Baileys.

Sunnyside4 · 09/08/2024 21:13

Not an item, but first thing that came to mind are my boys (the cats) and I can't think of any household item I value over/appreciate/get pleasure out of more than them.

Tarquina · 09/08/2024 21:13

The one and a quarter pint bone china decorated jumbo teacup from which I drink my tea every single morning

Moonshine5 · 09/08/2024 21:15

Underfloor heating (never goes below a certain temperature in the bathrooms)

Blinds in the bi-fold windows

My automatic Volvo XC60 SUV. Big,safe, tank. I love it.

I was going to say the same....my automatic car (also an XC60), also the dishwasher.

Back to mats! I've to the original Shakti mat. It was like £69 or so, worth every penny. Imagine there are cheaper alternatives that are much the same tho.

bryceQ · 09/08/2024 21:16

Oh I have loads.

My aromatherapy associate oils.

A lovely cream before bed so I smell nice.

My kindle

My wax burner

And I love Aesop hand-wash. I change a lot of nappies and it turns handwashing into an enjoyable experience!

Realise almost all of mine are smell related!

We often find cats stretched out in it

I feel relaxed and happy just reading these 🙂

Love the sound of the velvetiser. Always been slightly too expensive to justify here though 😞

A cheap milk frother works just as well and is easier to clean!

The kindle app on my tablet and a hot water bottle for while I read, with a fan on my restless legs (terrible I know!) makes me giggle with excitement when I get into bed - especially if I have a nice cold bottle of water to swig from as well!

LaurieFairyCake · 09/08/2024 21:19

Heated throw

Use it 7 months of the year - when one died I had one in my Amazon basket 20 seconds later and bought !

MassiveSaladEater · 09/08/2024 21:20

@writingsonthewall tell me about your shakti mat and why you love it. I keep getting adverts for them on Facebook so the algorithms obviously think it's my kind of thing, but would like to know why!

BeachyBits · 09/08/2024 21:21

Our Sage coffee machine.

Freshly ground coffee which then makes the perfect creamy flat white. Genuinely nicer than any flat white I’ve had from a coffee shop.

It’s my morning ritual.

EasilyDisturbed · 09/08/2024 21:21

Yes to heated throw, also heated underblanket for the bed, bliss in winter.

Also yes to bone china mugs although mine are a bit smaller. Love my morning cuppa in one.
