What one item makes your life a bit nicer?

I have just read a thread about making life easier. It's always meal planning and household appliances.

Anyway it got me thinking whilst having a shower... I love my Bluetooth shower speaker. Being able to listen to my own music in the shower is great.

I don't need it. I can obviously live without it but I really love that little thing!

I also have dogs. I think it's a given that animals and children bring joy.

You have to recommend something to make life nicer.

What are you choosing? Smile

Sonic scrubber - available on Amazon. Well if Dr Who can have a sonic screwdriver…………..

ChishiyaBat · 21/08/2024 18:23

b&m and home bargains do those spinning cleaning brushes too, they are around £8.

My satin eyemask, I take it with me on holiday and I can't sleep without it. It forces my eyes shut and I get a good sleep!

Chocolate- I can't be without it.

Headphones and a good Agatha Christie audiobook and going for a long walk.

I don't know what I will listen to when I have l have listened to all of Agatha Christie's and MC Beaton books. They are so comforting, entertaining and easy to listen to!

Heated blanket - I have a downstairs one and an upstairs one. On cold nights it’s like a lively big warm hug! One of the best things I have bought

Not to be a buzzkill but lighting up the garden at night is bad for insects, birds and wildlife. Who all already are struggling quite a bit thanks to humans.

I hate to be a buzzkill too but this is true.
Its so bad for wildlife so please don’t.

I've been using my long forgotten spiky mat and OMG. I e slept for the past 3 nights so much better. Coincidence or placebo? Maybe. But I don't care.

I've just bought one of those spinning scrubber cleaning things.. looking forward to using it especially on my floors.
My, how my Friday nights have changed...

Thelnebriati · 24/08/2024 23:55

I've just seen they are on special offer this week in Lidl and I'm tempted.

(Makes a mental note to be more loving)

That's a lovely mental note. I shall do that too. Any ideas? I need some as I'm not very affectionate and probably should show more warmth and love to my family.

My under desk tread mill. Fits neatly under my very compact sofa when I want to tuck it away and enables me to walk/run 15-20 mins multiple times a day - as soon as I wake up, after meals etc. As someone who rarely exercised before, it's a big improvement! Combined with some weight training and diet control, I am hoping that I can reverse my prediabetes. Earlier, I was always put off by bad weather, being busy at work etc.

My Robot mower, Monty (for that is his name 😁) ! No more fretting about the weather at the weekend to see if DH can cut the grass. No more grass cuttings. Lawn is always immaculate. Love him!

Our 2 cups of filter coffee each morning. Just a cheap £20 machine but really good ground coffee. Ordered online every couple of months by the kilo.

Luxury Maid coffee creamers to go in aforementioned coffee. Absolute game changer. Order them from Amazon and have them delivered every couple of months.

Who Gives A Crap loo roll delivery

Portable air con in the bedroom - amazing!

Beautiful rechargeable desk fan at work, love it

I know lots of people are anti Amazon but I wouldn't be without my subscription to Prime and my fire stick

mumto3boysHE · 25/08/2024 09:15

I forgot my car!
Fiat 500L so it's higher than the usual but but as big as an SUV and can fit 4 adults comfortably, loads of leg room in the back. Big boot.
Love it.

mumto3boysHE · 25/08/2024 09:45

Bugger! Sorry, should say not as big as an SUV

Stoufer · 25/08/2024 19:13

My favourite thing this year is my new armchair (ikea Oskarshamn) - it has a high back (and supports my head and neck) but is a contemporary style, and is so so comfortable. I am in my 50s, and was finding sitting in sofas really uncomfortable (I have back problems), and I just love sitting in my armchair, it is so comfortable, everything is supported, and the back is curved so it feels like the chair is giving you a hug! A recent discovery is that using a beanbag as a footstool (when sitting in my lovely armchair) is next level comfort! Oh, and a lovely blanket too is bliss!

Those of you considering Woodwick candles please be aware that they are made with paraffin wax. It's not healthy to burn this. It's carcinogenic.
