What one item makes your life a bit nicer?

I have just read a thread about making life easier. It's always meal planning and household appliances.

Anyway it got me thinking whilst having a shower... I love my Bluetooth shower speaker. Being able to listen to my own music in the shower is great.

I don't need it. I can obviously live without it but I really love that little thing!

I also have dogs. I think it's a given that animals and children bring joy.

You have to recommend something to make life nicer.

What are you choosing?

The problem I have is with dogs, you know where they are all the time. These two still live mostly outside (albeit in luxury) and whilst they are hanging around here and I know where they are, I feel settled and happy. When they go off to do cat things, I have anxiety about them until they are back, especially if one comes back without the other. I have to get a grip.😊

I ordered a Woodwick candle which is coming today, so excited, never knew such things existed!!

My acupressure mat has arrived! I didn’t go with a shatki mat, thought I’d go with a slightly cheaper option first to see how I get on with it. It’s the mat and pillow. Any tips on how to start using it? Frequency/ length of time on the mat etc/ time of day? And what benefits may I see?

One thing I’ve got recently is a rechargeable spinning brush for cleaning things with. Makes light work of anything and makes it a bit more fun!

Just thought of another one, a long string of lights to go all around the garden (mains powered not solar) that really brings the garden to life after dark, absolutely love them!

Oh I keep seeing these on social media and assumed they wouldn't be much use in reality. Tempted now!

For me it's my subscription to online workouts with a local woman who's brilliant - went online during covid and never looked back. I feel fitter, healthier and stronger than I ever have and I can do her workouts whenever suits me and without leaving the house. Amazing.

I've also been incpired byt a few things on the thread but have questions...the keratin treatment looks brilliant - does it make your hair poker straight without any body though? I have quite frizzy hair which I hate but it does straighten nicely when I can be bothered - but I leave it with a bit of bounce and wouldn't want to lose that. Or as you're doing it yourself can you do it so it isn't too flat?

And the collagen - my joints are already awful so very keen to try this. Any side effects? Is it really tasteless (or at least, palatable mixed in with something?)

Also putting a shakti mat at the toip of my Christmas list!

Regarding the collagen, I haven't noticed any negative side effects at all. The brand I use is completely tasteless, I've used it in coffee, herbal teas, smoothies and hot chocolate and I can't even tell its in there.

I have seen them but wondered, do they create a mess by flinging water outside the area you intend to clean?

Not to be a buzzkill but lighting up the garden at night is bad for insects, birds and wildlife. Who all already are struggling quite a bit thanks to humans.
