So it doesn’t say 250-300 members of the Asian community ‘charged a police line’, chanting Allahu Akbar, and was a flash point for the disorder, which until then had been contained?

What do you think ‘charged a police line’ means?

GoldThumb · 05/08/2024 21:50

CassieMaddox · 05/08/2024 21:47

My interpretation was the far right "protestors" and counter protestor were in an uneasy stand off but then the far right kicked off because some Muslims said allahu akbar.

Fucking snowflakes

Well the police clearly disagree with your take, because they were handling it, and then had to get the riot gear and the horses out after 250-300 people ‘charged their line’.

CassieMaddox · 05/08/2024 21:50

I'm not interested in your whataboutery.

As far as I'm concerned it's unreasonable to expect other communities to ignore these far right rioters turning up to make trouble and any blame entirely rests with the far right, and those inciting them.

PandoraSox · 05/08/2024 21:47

How do you know it is a different company?

What do you mean he is an auditor?

Someone who films police and dares them to arrest them just so they can say that they are allowed to and what law are they breaking anyway.

Saying I'm wary of misinformation is nothing like saying anything is justified

Thats a different company. He's just an auditor, and many Youtubers have a members only section to earn a few quid, like a private forum, first access to certain videos.

A fan of DJE media saying it shows the unwhitewashed truth that MSM doesn't want you to see. Uh huh.

Ahhh, Self styled "Auditors" or "citizen journalists" were a bit of an American thing then came over here. Its basically men with cameras who record things usually from the public footbath e.g. police stations, prisons, public buildings, industrial estates etc. They often fly drones over. Sounds tedious and often is but they have a growing following online. Now this fella, DJE Media is a bit of a ghoul. He famously recorded the Nicola Bulley case live from the river and was villified for it. His name is not the same as that company on companies house as I doubt he has a company, its just a Youtube page. He went back to usual industrial estate stuff for a while but it doesnt pay so well (ie. generate ad revenue) so he's gone back to recording unfolding news, literally just standing in public places recording for hours on end. He was at that bridge in Wales a couple of weeks ago where the remains of 2 people were in suitcases. It's been enlightening during these riots to see what its like literally inside the baying mobs with unfiltered recording of their speech and nasty discourse. The Rotherham one from yesterday was brilliant.

PandoraSox · 05/08/2024 21:55

I don't understand why posters think that if they post links to "media" sources that are not well known, other posters won't check them out.

That bridge is not in Wales.

If he is not the DJE Media person registered at Companies House, what is his name, please?

Sorry it was Bristol, my mind went to Wales for some reason, probably geographical proximity.

That guy you posted is Charlie Veitch, he's not an auditor, more a pain in the police's arse.

But what is the name of the DJE Media bloke, please?

You'd have to google Nicola Bulley tiktoker and look at the news stories.

I knew his name then and he's potentially changed it, but as I say if you watch his videos of the riots, its just e.g. for Rotherham several hours of unedited raw recording from the front line. Unsure how that could be faked?

This is the sort of thing you dont see on the news. If nothing else just watch the first minute of the clip below and tell me that poor policemans face doesnt speak volumes about this whole sorry affair.

PandoraSox · 05/08/2024 22:14

Tbh I don't want to watch his videos without knowing a bit more about him! The fact that he is lauded as "Britain's last real journalist" yet no one seems to know his name(s) makes me wary.

Anyway, am going to lose myself in some fantasy fiction for a couple of hours escape.

That was just rhetoric from Charlie Veitch. The man is no more a journalist than you or I. Its a man with a camera recording subversive content. Fantasy Fiction sounds a lot more preferable the real world at the min, enjoy!

Also can someone please take Elon Musk's phone off him? That tweet predicting civil war in britain is inciting violence if ever I saw one!

He knows nothing about Britain or our values!

Twitter is awful at the moment. There's an auto refresh that is making things very difficult to keep track of. Not sure whether this is being used for good or bad at the moment.

LiterallyOnFire · 06/08/2024 07:47

Elon has gone further overnight then. You were prescient @GiveMeSpanakopita

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 06/08/2024 07:56

Is it time for a national campaign to get people to abandon Twitter? Could it take hold?

It has been an absolute cesspit for racist misinformation recently, and Elon's nonsense about civil war is just the cherry on top.

Or that just leave it for the far right to post shit without any challenge?

I think we need to be able to apply massive fines for social media companies that allow misinformation to be spread.

LiterallyOnFire · 06/08/2024 08:00

Has it really been that bad? So much that it bursts through the silos?

I haven't had a Twitter account for years so I haven't seen it.

Terrifying to think what he'll do if the 'wrong' side win the US election.

LiterallyOnFire · 06/08/2024 08:11

Laurence Fox apparently flew out of Stansted to Cork yesterday wearing dark glasses for the whole flight. Apparently he called the PM a "traitor" on Twitter before (?) he left.

All the provocateurs are running away, then?

I'd quite happily go back to a pre-SM world if this is what it brings us.

Yes, the post in which he called the PM a traitor was particularly inflammatory. I am not quite sure where the law draws the boundaries but I read it and wondered immediately if he could be charged with something.
