I've painted my toenails!! I'm going on holiday tomorrow and at the ripe old age of 59 decided I'm going to wear nail varnish for the first time! And they look great.

Anyone else?

Visited Stonehenge. I've been past it many times and was happy with that, but dd asked to properly visit it so we did.

I called someone a selfish cow because she parked her car on the junction to go to the chemists just as I was trying to exit the junction. She refused to move the car so I shouted "selfish cow" at her 😬

Foraged nettle seeds

Made pickled walnuts.

Nothing today but yesterday I climbed to the top of a local-ish hill I've been meaning to climb for yearrrs. (It was much easier than I thought too.)

cigarettesNalcohol · 24/07/2024 16:49

Did a tie dye kit

Nothing yet but in 10 minutes I'll be seeing a physiotherapist for the first time. Crap knees.

AppleKatie · 24/07/2024 16:50

Went in a lovely bookshop I’ve seen but never been in before.

Also had my hair cut by a new hairdresser- but she was shit 😭

TheSweetestHalleluja · 24/07/2024 16:51

Realised that there is a sequel to the phantom of the opera. Who knew?! Treated myself to the dvd.

ComtesseDeSpair · 24/07/2024 16:53

I admitted to the air steward that I don’t really like flying at all even though I do a whole lot of it, sometimes several times a month, and am actually pretty scared sometimes; and she gave me a great pep talk / metaphorical handhold along the lines of “if I’m back here casually chatting about my boyfriend troubles and what I had for dinner last night, there’s nothing to worry about.”

CheeseWisely · 24/07/2024 16:57

I drove a route into town that I never take but my DH always takes. I honestly don't think I've ever driven that way before. I passed my EXH who was randomly standing at the side of the road, so I won't be doing it again either Grin

PinkKindle · 24/07/2024 17:00

Out for a child-free walk at lunch and went through the local park as usual but instead of sticking to the main path took a scenic route through the woodland area, which I’ve never been able to before as I always have the buggy with me and the woodland path is full of uneven tree roots, rocks etc

Hosting a teenage sleepover.

Please rescue me.

otravezempezamos · 24/07/2024 17:03

I made a new recipe in my slow cooker

Wonkywinky · 24/07/2024 17:04

Went to a golf driving chain thing place.
Won't rush back

PetrichorSoul · 24/07/2024 17:06

Applied for my first C Suite role.

I also applied for senior management positions but I thought I’d chance my arm 😁

DelilahBucket · 24/07/2024 17:07

Asked to buy 12 kebabs in a supermarket, in Montenegrin. My pronunciation was slightly cackhanded as I corrected myself but the butcher took it in good grace. They're a bit stern faced in Montenegro with tourists sometimes so to get a laugh out of him was a real achievement 😂

TheYearOfSmallThings · 24/07/2024 17:12

Got a zirconium crown on my upper left 7. I have a porcelain crown on a different tooth so it isn't that exciting tbh.

I have also just made blackberry clafoutis for the first time.

Did you want 12? I ended up with 4 loaves of bread on holiday once because 4 was the lowest number i could remember in the local language and I was determined not to be that tourist who comes in shouting in English and pointing.

franke · 24/07/2024 17:19

Sent an email to a colleague at a different location. No big deal except I had to write it in a language other than English. He replied and I realised he's not a native speaker (of the other language) either 😂 but between us we were able to solve the problem.

MyBigFatGreekSalad · 24/07/2024 17:27

Eaten sauerkraut.

Really liked it so going to make my own at the weekend!

TheCourtierTapsHisFan · 24/07/2024 17:31

Bought a 1lb loaf tin liner from Lakeland. I have several 2lb loaf tin liners but no 1lb loaf tin liners. I’m going to make rye bread in it. Apparently it sticks like buggery, hence the liner.

Figgysmum · 24/07/2024 17:31

Cut lots of flowers from my garden to decorate a church for my friends sons funeral 😥

CheeseWisely · 24/07/2024 17:32

@Fink This made me laugh. I remember a holiday where I only knew up to 2 in German so ordered 4 beers as '2 beers, and 2 beers, please' Grin
