I've painted my toenails!! I'm going on holiday tomorrow and at the ripe old age of 59 decided I'm going to wear nail varnish for the first time! And they look great.

Anyone else?

Ate lactose free greek yogurt which was very creamy and delicious

Bought it for DS and he's happy with it too

Echobelly · 24/07/2024 18:52

Tried on a Joanie dress - bought it online to wear for son's bar mitzvah - wasn't sure if it would fit well but looks really nice.

BobbyBiscuits · 24/07/2024 18:56

Realised that the wool wash cycle on my washing machine doesn't work. It just fills up for one minute then does nothing but show a timer counting down 39 minutes?!
I've never tried it before and never will again!

I also bought some ready meal duck confit from Waitrose that I've never tried before. I'm fearing it will be shite, and it was really expensive. But I'm trying to remain positive!

Had my brows tattooed (at 70 years of age) and I'm so pleased with them 😊

Tried to clean green gunk off the wrought iron balcony railings of the flat I am moving into. And found the paint is all flaking off underneath, aagh. Realised I am not up to jobs like this and have taken to my sofa for the rest of the evening. (That bit is far from new.)

Went for a hearing test! I passed.
( I can remember having them as a child, but never had one as an adult )

MizzMarple · 24/07/2024 19:11

Went out by myself with all 3 children for the first time (youngest is 5 weeks).

Astridmoons · 24/07/2024 19:12

I’m very routine led but trying to ease up and become more chill.

first time in 10 years I cooked dinner late and we ate late and everyone is okay, happy, fed and barely noticed. We ate an hour late.

I desperately want to be more flexible and care free so we can enjoy evenings and be more random. ☺️ a bit like pre children!!

(I’m fine if we’re randomly eating out. No idea why!)

Moier · 24/07/2024 19:14

Not today but on Monday( hope it counts) injected my first mounjaro injection.
🤞

Cut lots of flowers from my garden to decorate a church for my friends sons funeral 😥

@Figgysmum I'm sorry xx. Hope that's a first AND last time you ever need to do that. How old was her son??

OldTinHat · 24/07/2024 19:19

Went to the new Post Office to post a signed for letter. (We've not had a PO for a few years.)

Kept my mouth shut while my MIL complained about everything (it was bloody difficult too!).

Paid a cheque in online.

Well done (I think)

I love paying cheques in online, the technology fascinates me!!

Nothing very major today - made a lentil, tomato pesto pasta sauce.

A few days ago, I bought a tv for the first time in my life. I've only ever had hand-me-downs or watched on my laptop before but what with the Olympics and Amazon Prime day, i decided to treat myself.

EnjoythemoneyJane · 24/07/2024 19:20

Went day drinking in a Wetherspoons to celebrate DS’s graduation (his choice of venue & much nicer than I thought it’d be - the ones near home are rank!)

Davros · 24/07/2024 19:27

Went to the roof garden at UCH. I go there regularly for various clinics but today I was early. It was lovely

Had a blood test for a potential heart issue, angina. It was unexpected and I felt a bit tearful afterwards. Lots of heart issues in my family, I mean I am clean living but genetics maybe wins out.

BinkyBeaufort · 24/07/2024 19:38

Told a scammer on the phone to fuck off, stop trying to con hard-working businesses and get a proper job.

Feist · 24/07/2024 20:00

Produced some material that will go on my employer’s social media channels. It’s a big company with millions of followers and my role is absolutely nothing to do with marketing.

RobinHood19 · 24/07/2024 20:04

Ordered a coffee in my home country. It sounds stupid but I left when I was very young and not drinking coffee yet, and have only recently started cultivating a taste for it back where I now live. My family don’t drink coffee at all, so innocently I’d just never heard the different options explained to me before, and as a child didn’t pay attention to other adults in my life ordering it.

I was very surprised at the different brewing process, milk questions etc. I’m used to answer “what milk would you like” with soya, oat, cow’s, etc… Nope, here they meant hot or cold. There’s also a fixation with the ratio of water vs coffee used before the milk is added - I’m used to this being differentiated by the actual coffee names!

BestZebbie · 24/07/2024 20:11

Discovered that my son shares my strong dislike for the squeaky sound that polystyrene makes when touched against other things (we mutually decided to abandon the block-printing activity).

FarmCFer · 24/07/2024 20:20

Had a full body massage
