Put the country before himself - yes, finally, but he’s done it.

Please God let my country be ok.

Crooked Joe Biden was not fit to run for President, and is certainly not fit to serve - And never was! He only attained the position of President by lies, Fake News, and not leaving his Basement. All those around him, including his Doctor and the Media, knew that he wasn’t capable of being President, and he wasn’t - And now, look what he’s done to our Country, with millions of people coming across our Border, totally unchecked and unvetted, many from prisons, mental institutions, and record numbers of terrorists. We will suffer greatly because of his presidency, but we will remedy the damage he has done very quickly. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

This seems so unclassy from Trump. What is wrong with him?

Disgusting from Trump but what else would we expect unfortunately

HermioneWeasley · 21/07/2024 19:45

@Pikapikapikachu11 absolutely not, he’s despicable. But all the people here being teary eyed about what a great president he’s been are being very selective with thr facts. The best thing you can say about Biden is he’s better than Trump, and that’s a low bar to clear.

And TRUMP IS a good person? 👍

Where did she suggest that?

Growsomeballswoman · 21/07/2024 19:45

Wonder if he will pardon his son on his last day in office 🤔

Where do they find them!!

Really? Is that true about undressing in front of female agents? And the young girls?

Is this well documented?

There was a whole article in the Sunday Times about it. And the Obamas knew and did nothing. Women are always acceptable collateral damage for the cause.

Hummingbird75 · 21/07/2024 19:46

It felt like something akin to cruelty to watch him struggle as he has towards the end, losing his dignity on the world stage.

I don't know what will happen in a few months, but America is a fantastic, innovative country that will ride through I am sure.

The restraint he showed at the Republican convention didn't last long.

I desperately hope that there's a massive surge of support for Kamala Harris now. It could really become a campaign filled with passion now, and really flip the numbers.

She can likely take Trump apart in a debate; they won't want to engage with a younger, smarter, more progressive candidate, with a longer political history than Trump.

She's very odd and not popular at all

Biden is NOT a good man. Have you all forgotten the creepy handling and sniffing of young girls (and that’s what he was doing in public)? That when he was VP the security services had to stop assigning female agents to work with him because he always took his clothes off in front of them? That he has put the democrats in a position where they can’t win against Trump because he was clinging to power, probably so he could pardon his criminal son?

Trump is a rapist
He went on many trips with a confirmed paedophile and trafficker
He made highly inappropriate comments about his daughter
He did not pardon his son and made it clear he wouldn’t while trump has pardoned people who actually threatened the democracy of the country

I wish people wouldn’t do this. Like when they said Hillary couldn’t be president because her husband had affairs and instead voted in someone who had affairs themselves

I don’t think Biden is an angel but this is a terrible argument for why you should vote for trump

DancingPhantomsOnTheTerrace · 21/07/2024 19:47

Butwhybecause · 21/07/2024 19:42

Thank goodness at last!
But will the Democrats find another candidate in time? I'm really not sure that Kamala Harris has what it takes to be President.

Surely in such a large country and out of such a large population there is someone with the intelligence and the right personality (charisma?) to take on this task?

I can't quite remember the details but I remember hearing something this week about how the campaign funding with the electoral commission is registered in both Biden and Harris's names, so she can access it if he drops out and she replaces him.

But it's a bit more complex legally if someone else runs. So that might make it more likely to be her.

AInightingale · 21/07/2024 19:42

Very ignorant of the American political process. So what exactly happens between now and November?

The Democrats will select their candidate at their convention, which IIRC is from 16 to 19 August. If there had been a primary process then the winner of that would have been anointed. It's traditional not to have primaries against a sitting President (although Ford had to face them in 1976), so if Biden had not stepped down he would have become the candidate.

It's most likely that only one candidate (Harris) will be presented to the convention, and she will be adopted by acclamation, or some pro forma vote. Then the campaign officially begins, although US politics has been referred to by some as "the permanent campaign".

Kamala endorsed by Biden

Trump win inevitable now

Edited

I can only hope that the DNC doesn't abide by his wishes and picks someone who might have a chance and isn't extreme left (like Newsome).

It is a depressing theme of populism that integrity doesn’t seem to matter, just get a cheap shot.

But a lot of Americans haven't forgotten all the things that Trump has done. Including, refusing to accept the election result last time.

When he ran against Hilary Clinton, he was an unknown. People voted for him because they didn't want Hilary. Now, a lot of Americans don't want another 4 years of Trump.

But more don’t want Harris I’m afraid. So I think if they want the Democrats to stand a chance, they have to go with one of the other nominees. Problem being though, that they’re not well known, and there isn’t enough time for them to make an impact.

Unless the Dems have already vetted and shortlisted others, I don't think that's possible.

Plus, if they had done that, I don't think Biden would so quickly have endorsed the VP.

CoffeandTiaMaria · 21/07/2024 19:48

God help America is all I can say.
Biden should have stood down months ago, goodness knows what Kamala Harris has been doing, I haven’t read anything about her for months and months.
As for Trump…..if he’s the best nominee that the Republicans can find……😵‍💫

But Nigel Farage changed HIS mind!

Please Michelle - the world needs you.

That would be the best outcome. Unfortunately, she's repeatedly said she has no interest and disliked her time as first lady.

Looks like Kamala Harris, which is pretty much a slam dunk for Trump

They've kept her hidden, which was for the best. She's not the sharpest tool in the box 🙄

TheUsualChaos · 21/07/2024 19:50

Also don't agree that Biden was the good man people have him to be. But at least he's been preferable to Trump the past few years. Now it looks like through his stubbornness and arrogance, he's handed the reigns right back to Trump. The thing many forget is that Trump is only less than 4 years younger at 78! Sadly I don't think America is ready to vote in a female president, especially someone thrown in last minute.

Newbutoldfather · 21/07/2024 19:50

I don’t think Kamala has any chance vs Trump.

Aside from being a nothing VP, she has supported Biden throughout recent months when she must have known he was too infirm to run.

And she is a terrible debater.

I wonder if Trump will be able to pardon himself when he finally goes for good in 2029?
