Also, it's likely the new next president will get to select two Supreme Court justices. The current SC is a tool of the right, it's pretty crucial that this is evened out a bit. If that's something people are concerned about they should vote for the Dem candidate no matter who it is. SC judges remain in position for literal decades.

Has anyone on MN had a relative with Alzheimer’s or any other cognitive issue? It has nothing to do with age. It can even happen in the 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, or 60’s. It is sad and needs to be faced. Joe Biden’s cognitive issue became apparent at least 3 years ago.

His supporters didn’t want to face the fact that President Biden was not going to be able to fulfill his duties as President, and were hoping he could win the 2024 election so they could hold onto power. Disgusting people. Elder abuse.

i’m still surprised they didn’t keep him in the race, so he could win (maybe) and then invoke the 25th Amendment, so they could remove Biden and put Harris in as president. God help us.

I never said she was. I said it’s a lazy critique often used against women in positions of power. She’s got a degree in politics and economics and is a qualified lawyer. You don’t get to the position she is in by being thick.

With Biden running, no one ran against him for the nomination (typical when the party has a sitting president)so no one else was fund raising to the extent needed for a presidential campaign.

It's the Biden-Harris campaign so Kamala can access the funds (most? All of? Not sure), but the others can't.

Also, it will be very difficult for whoever gets the nomination. Realistic candidates in four or eight years time would probably prefer to bide their time.

Agree it needs evening out. Comey-Barrett has been a wildcard though, which is fantastic. I’m ready for Alito and Thomas to go but hope they don’t both leave under any one administration.

If you didn’t already know, respect has to be earned if people are going to take you seriously as the leader of a county. And especially when that country is a democracy.

After Trump refused to accept the election result in 2020 and encouraged people to riot, which resulted in innocent people being killed, I’d say there is no way back for him to be viewed as a person worthy of respect ever again.

People who talk about ‘Hatred’ for Trump are almost always Trump fans.

One of the problems with Harris is that she's a terrible public speaker.

I think that is a huge underestimation of the non-white voting population in the US. They are not puppets or fools.

Aside from the fact that Obama is lightning in a bottle, a once in a generation politician - brains, charisma, can talk to anyone at any level etc etc etc... He's the "right kind" of Black - i.e. half white, with European features and raised by his white family. And he's a man.

From memory he interrupted her constantly and the person chairing the debate was far too weak and let him get away with it.

Plus as Hillary said in that article, the bar for Trump is so low he can just ramble non sequiters and lie and people think ah well, that's just him.
Whereas Harris will have to be absolutely on it. Her looks, her stance, her voice pitch and cadence will have to be perfect and she'll have to have a superb grasp of all the topics for debate whereas Trump can just say any old shit.
