Your favourite biscuit and most disliked biscuit

What is your favourite biscuit ?
What is the biscuit you dislike most?

My favourite is
Chocolate covered Kimberley biscuit, though it was nicer when it had more chocolate covering it years ago.
The coating has definitely thinned.

Also utterly delicious but sadly discontinued is the Chocolate covered ( fully enrobed in chocolate) Boaster. Delicious.

Least favourite
Rich Tea or Arrowroot.
They are so bland why bother making them ?

I don't like those dry pink wafers, all sweet and dusty, without substance

They're definitely the worst.

The best depends on the occasion. A ginger nut is the best thing if you want to dunk in tea, but otherwise it's got to be something chocolate (dunking a chocolate biscuit is bizarre). My favourite used to be mint yo-yos.

BobbyBiscuits · 16/07/2024 11:10

My fave is these really lovely buttery biscuits from M&S with raisins in them. I forget the name but they're absolutely lush.

My worst is actually a distant relative of my favourite..the Garibaldi. Utterly horrendous crime against biscuit making!!

Flumpie59 · 16/07/2024 11:15

I LOVE Jammie Dodgers and Custard Creams.

The Jammie's are soooo delicious and I love the custard in the creams!

I can't abide Digestives, dunked in tea or not! And also can't stand Rich Tea!

Best - Ginger Nut
Least - Milk chocolate Hobnob.

I haven’t seen a lemon puff in years, where do you get them? I used to love them.

What don't you like about MCHs?

They are the perfect biscuit.

Ginger nuts are awful because I don't like the taste of ginger.

TheTecknician · 16/07/2024 11:21

Disliked are, equally, custard creams, bourbons and rich tea. Bland, dusty rubbish. There's nowt rich about rich tea.

Favourite probably chocolate Hob Nobs or Biscoff (especially the Belgian chocolate variety).

Funderthighs · 16/07/2024 11:22

I’ve just discovered M&S chocolate covered custard creams. They are eye wateringly expensive but utterly delicious.
I can’t stand Jammy Dodgers.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 16/07/2024 11:22

It's hard to pick a favourite, but I think a really good butter shortbread or my home-made Anzac biscuits

I don't like sweet things with ginger or cinnamon, so won't eat ginger nuts or Biscoff.

frecklejuice · 16/07/2024 11:25

Favourite especially to dunk is a Bourbon

Least favourite is probably a Malted Milk

TabbyM · 16/07/2024 11:26

I have spotted lemon puffs recently - think it was either a pound shop or Home Bargains.

Favourites: chocolate gingers, Abernethys/ginger nuts for dunking in tea
Least favourite: pink wafers, dropping dry bits everywhere

MikeRafone · 16/07/2024 11:27

digestive biscuit is my favourite
chocolate coated biscuit is not for me

Knittedfairies2 · 16/07/2024 11:30

Favourite is a chocolate hobnob, but I am partial to a custard cream.
Least favourite is those pink wafer things that are always left in a tin of biscuits.

Girlintheframe · 16/07/2024 11:31

Favorite is LU butter biscuits but very more ish!

Least Jaffa cakes

Cuppaand2biscuits · 16/07/2024 11:34

Chocolate malted milk or chocolate hobnob would be my favourite.

Not bothered about ordinary rich tea (because they are too risky to dunk) but the chocolate rich tea biscuits from aldi are lovely.

Frowningprovidence · 16/07/2024 11:36

Shortbread is my favourite

Bourbons are a low point but oreo is just worse.

UnaOfStormhold · 16/07/2024 11:39

Favourite - macarons.
Least favourite -macaroons.

What a difference an "o" makes.

GasPanic · 16/07/2024 11:45

MonsteraMama · 16/07/2024 11:07

Favourite - chocolate Viennese whirl

Least favourite - Garibaldi's

It surprised me it took so long for someone to mention Garibaldi - surely the King of Horrible Biscuits.

Of the plain biscuits I like malted milk the best because of the buttery taste, although I quite like digestive as well and I don't mind fig rolls.

Rich tea, nice and ginger nuts are all pretty meh.

There is nothing more mediocre than a weak tea served with skimmed milk and rich tea biscuits.

The good thing about rich tea is you can keep them in the house for ages to serve up in emergencies because no one wants them.

catscatscurrantscurrants · 16/07/2024 11:49

Jaffa cakes are probably my favourite (although there are many that I like!)
Least liked are ginger nuts.

SoupDragon · 16/07/2024 11:51

I think you've got to go a long way to beat a dark chocolate hobnob as an "everyday" biscuit. I do quite like the humble rich tea when I'm in the mood for a plain biscuit.

I'm not sure are any biscuits I actively dislike - any biscuit is generally better than no biscuit at all (unless it is orange flavoured in some way). It's been a very, very long time since I've so much as looked at a garibaldi but I remember them being very, very disappointing.

Ineedaholidayyyy · 16/07/2024 11:54

McVities plain dark chocolate are the best!

There isn't any biscuit that I dislike, but if I had to pick a least favourite it would be something like a Garibaldi.

Hazelville · 16/07/2024 12:00

M&S pistachio biscuits or milk chocolate digestives are amongst my favourites.

Least favourite are those Danish biscuits that come in a blue tin.

Rich Tea are great when you are feeling a bit sick.

RaraRachael · 16/07/2024 13:07

I don't like what my mother used to call "cheap biscuits" - custard cream, pink wafers, fig roll, bourbon type of thing.

No dunking at all where I come from. I was really confused the first time I met my XMiL. She like to think she was classy and when she gave me a cup of tea with a digestive she asked why I wasn't dunking. Firstly I'd no idea what that meant and secondly I couldn't believe somebody who liked to appear posh would even do that!

kitsuneghost · 16/07/2024 13:10

Favourite: Fruit shortcake or hobnob
Least favorite: Bourbon - tastes of poverty and sadness

Luminousalumnus · 16/07/2024 13:10

Favourite shortbread. Least favourite bourbon

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 16/07/2024 13:10

Definitely Chocolate Kimberly Are the Best @deeahgwitch

Putting · 16/07/2024 13:16

Favourite - Biscoff sandwich or orange creams (which I haven’t seen for ages)
Least favourite - either custard creams or garibaldi
