I thought she looked fabulous, but my question is about her hair and chemo. If she is having chemo wouldn’t she have lost her hair?
I don’t know perhaps not everyone loses their hair with chemo 🤷‍♀️
It didn’t look to me look she was wearing a wig.
I thought she looked very well and was glad to see her out and about.

Photoshopped obviously Wink
I don't like this constant scrutinising of women's looks.

If you’d looked at any of the main cancer sites on the internet, you would have got your answer instead of starting a thread about it.

Emmanuelll · 15/07/2024 18:32

Some people smoke, precisely because it decreases your appetite.

You sound like you are promoting it as a weight loss aid @Emmanuelll .

Emmanuelll · 15/07/2024 19:19

Not at all - I hate smoking.

KirstenBlest · 15/07/2024 19:28

I said you sounded like you were. I know some ex-smokers who would say things like 'I put on 2 stones when I gave up smoking' or 'Smoking is more addictive than heroin'. It doesn't help someone trying to give up.

MillicentMaybe · 15/07/2024 19:40

I didn’t lose mine when I had chemo for breast cancer though it did thin a bit, just enough that I noticed it, don’t think others did. However for lymphoma it all went - bald as a coot! Pretty sure the Princess of Wales has still got her own hair, but is possibly using a cold cap. She did look wonderful, as did Princess Charlotte. A lovely mother/daughter day out.

KirstenBlest · 15/07/2024 19:42

Hope the chemo was fully successful for you @MillicentMaybe . Best wishes.

Thank you @KirstenBlest . All in the past and on top of the world these days.

If you were trying to give up and my post triggered you then I'm sorry of course. I was saying it in response to earlier posts where it was assumed that slim people don't smoke which isn't true. Even my beauty therapist does it and she knows how bad it is for her skin. My dad gave up for 10 years and then restarted again. So yes, goes without saying that it's very addictive.

KirstenBlest · 16/07/2024 10:42

You didn't trigger me but you definitely sounded like you were promoting it as an appetite suppressant.

I'm not assuming that slim people don't smoke. Pippa Matthews does endurance sports so I would have not expected her to be a smoker.

I don't get 'triggered' but I get annoyed by comments like yours.

Smoking is a stinky, unhealthy, expensive habit that some enjoy. It does not need to be promoted as a weight-loss aid, and if someone wants to give up, then they could do with support and encouragement, not be told that it's difficult.,

Emmanuelll · 16/07/2024 11:01

Of course it is - that goes without saying but it's also factual to say that smoking suppresses appetite.

So you can stop moderating my comments and telling me what I'm allowed to post on an internet forum now. 🙄

Comments 'irritate' me all the time. What makes you think you're the thread police? I'm not spreading misinformation.

CelesteCunningham · 16/07/2024 11:03

FFS @KirstenBlest , @Emmanuelll wasn't promoting smoking at all. It is a fact that soome smoke because of the appetite suppression - not the smartest decision but they do. I'm sure we all remember reading about models living on black coffee and cigarettes back in the day.

IdLikeToBeAFraser · 16/07/2024 11:16

Yes, absolutely. I think we all agree using smoking as an appetite suppressant is a terrible idea, doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

KirstenBlest · 16/07/2024 11:40

It's how it came across. I think it's now used for vaping.
I think to use these terms is irresponsible.
I can remember back in the late 1990s when articles with young slim actresses or singers would almost always mention that she smoked.
We've moved away from that, thank goodness.

I can remember reading about a beautiful young actress and reading what she weighed and how tall and thinking I'd like to look like her, and I think we should be more careful what shite we feed our teens.
