Looks like some sort of injury to Trump, likely superficial.

The coverage of the situation in Gaza. MSM using press releases from Hamas and reporting them verbatim then having to apologise later when it's proved it's completely fabricated. Situation in Ukraine. Covid. I could go on.

Can you show me proof that these things are fabricated?

Well nice to see you spreading that peace and love.

But seriously, the Democrats job is to win elections over the Republicans. The Republicans job is to win elections over the Democrats. How do you blame the Democrats for ruining the system by 'destroying' Mitt Romney? They simply beat him at the ballot box both popular and electoral votes, just as Reagan beat Jimmy Carter. At some point along the way, the Republican Party decided that their fortunes lay in propping up very extremist candidates. How are Dems to blame for that?

Either you're not articulating your thoughts very well or it's nonsensical thinking. And, yeah, tell me to fuck off for calling that out, I really don't care.

And I don't mean one off mistakes or errors that are then corrected. I mean actual misinformation.

Or… something else. Long post for someone that doesn’t care.

You didn't say you'd been in shootings. You said I was "bold" in thinking that you probably hadn't.

Say what you actually mean!

Edited

You are the one who said if I'm British I'm highly unlikely to have been in any shootings. You're the one who tried to dismiss what I'd said because you ignorantly assumed "British" people won't have experience of being in shootings. And for some reason you are now making an argument that there are more shootings in America than there were during the Troubles even though that has nothing to do with anything. 🤪

Make it make sense.

@timenowplease I wouldn’t bother to respond unless you want to be insulted, know it all types will never listen to anyone but themselves. My god it’s been decades of dealing with this type now, starting with around my own family dinner table.

I have sympathy for your family. Having had to deal with a similar relative

@Puzzledandpissedoff

George W Bush definitely muddled things up but it was because he couldn't think on his feet and perhaps a bit dim. However, he wasn't a drunk. He has been sober since 1986.

So they claim, but then that's why I posted that he was a drunk, rather than that he is ...

Brits on average, including Northern Irish, Scots, Welsh, and the despised English, are less likely to face a shooting than USians.

You, in response to me saying I have been in shootings, said, "If you're British, like most posters on this site, it's highly unlikely that you will have been." You are wrong. Northern Irish people who grew up in certain areas of Belfast in the 80s and 90s have experienced plenty of shootings and bombings.

can I just point out that Northern Ireland is not part of Great Britain, it does however make up part of the United Kingdom.

Really? When there's an ex/future President on a rally, with many members of the public, and some random is ON A ROOF POINTING A RIFLE AT THEM, they have to wait until he shoots before they can shoot? SERIOUSLY?? Are the rules different in USA than UK?

If King Charles or Keir Starmer was in public and someone pointed a rifle at them, they would NOT have to wait until a shot was fired before they could shoot back!

Can you not shout at me, please. Neither in the USA nor the UK are law enforcement permitted to carry out extrajudicial executions unless there is an imminent threat to life. So someone points a gun at someone. What if it wasn't loaded? Or a replica? Imagine the shrieking if the police shot them. The law is the law so you can take your performative, disingenuous nonsense and go scream at someone else.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 15/07/2024 07:52

Yes, and that's why "They should have taken him out when they first saw him" doesn't work. Apart from anything else it would instantly have been tuned into "someone was murdered to defend Trump"

Unfortunately, no matter how good the security, there's only so much protection which can be put into place against a lone gunman, and at least this one didn't result in an actual assassination

If you point what looks like a gun at someone then the police will treat it as a real gun until they know otherwise. They can and have shot people in such circumstances. The police absolutely do not need to wait for shots to be fired, that would be absurd.

I’m not a fan of Donald Trump’s politics but I must admit, I’ve been impressed by his response to this terrifying incident.

I didn't say NI was part of GB. I dont think anyone did. Are you confusing what "British" means? It just means a citizen of the UK.

Maybe English is not your first language. Can you explain why one off mistakes or errors are not considered misinformation?

AliceOlive · 15/07/2024 11:00

They are already investigating why the shooter was not shot by the sniper who had him in his sights as soon as he was spotted. Conjecture is that communication between the secret service and local law enforcement was poor and that the secret service sniper thought he was a police sniper.

Ah, thank you! Sadly, it was most of the family on one side. There was never any critical discussion or nuance. They’d vote for a carrot if it ran on the right ticket. They believe themselves intellectually superior and anyone who dares propose an idea that might lead to deeper thought has their intelligence called into question.

I stand by what I said. We got Trump after decades of having abandoned civility and decency during campaign cycles. Stable people with self respect and the leadership we need will not be running until there is a reset. Now we have women on the house floor calling each other bitch. I think we deserve it for condoning and contributing to the behavior.

Well that's bloody depressing with our new government and the number of female MPs. Are they going to be starting cat fights 🙈

AliceOlive · 15/07/2024 12:52

I sure hope not. It’s been really depressing and even a little scary over here. I think your system seems more stable. No one person or party seems to have such power as they have here.

No no we won't get that over here. We are far from perfect but we are nowhere near as wackadoodle crazy as the trump cult members.

Having spent a great deal of time on UK forums, I am not sure you are correct about that, generally.

However, I think there are better controls in place there that prevent the kind of widespread bi-partisan corruption we see in US government and politics.

There is no equivalence.

AliceOlive · 15/07/2024 15:00

Biggleslefae · 15/07/2024 14:35

There is no equivalence.

There are millions of people who voted for someone who has repeatedly shown he does not have a firm grip on the present. They are only now begrudgingly admitting there is a major problem with his cognitive abilities, and that is because there is some kind of elite political movement to get him out. I’d call that an equivalent cult.
