Looks like some sort of injury to Trump, likely superficial.

He’s a rapist he deserves what he gets in my opinion. I don’t know how the horrible feral scally ever got to the position he has.

Are you an American voter?

Not all states in the USA have capital punishment.

27 states have and 23 do not.

Biggles is a sandwich short of a picnic perhaps

No I’m British.

I also agree that's why it's dangerous to refer to 'the other side' as anything other than people with different opinions. We should be examining how & why this is happening not dismissing others as 'extremists/ 'whackjobs' etc

On another note, my Ds pointed out that there might be many different agencies involved in DR security at the rally? Perhaps that's why comms / reactions / prevention wasn't all it could have been?

Re panic: I was at a large public event 2 years ago where the scaffolding seating collapsed. Despite only 2 agencies, the Army & Met Police there, members of the public reacted & helped the victims before anyone official did. The Army & Police then argued & prevented the public from moving as a 2nd area collapsed before evacuating the public. It was a mess. People reacted differently. I must admit I was useless.

They were doing a risk assessment. Sometimes this costs lives unfortunately.

By being a ruthless businessman who has undoubtedly trampled over many a rival by fair means or foul. Something he’s carried over into his political career. My own reasons for despising him are many and varied, but that doesn’t mean I want to see him (or anyone else for that matter) get shot. There’s a difference between justice and vengeance

Except for a quirk of fate, like Kennedy his brains could have been spread all over his team

Is this really what democrats want?

So they deserved to be killed? OK...

Rightly or wrongly, I find my grief wholly containable.

Not sure if the poster I quoted is American, but judging from some of the comments I’ve seen in the media this morning, I think there are some of a certain mindset who do.

That's quite terrifying. How low is the general IQ in the USA you have to ask.

Mind you I despair of voters in the UK sometimes

medianewbie · 14/07/2024 13:40

@justasking111 re 'risk assessment': are you referring to the DT incident yesterday or the UK one I was talking about?

You are stupid.

2 people are dead.

You really don't understand the depths of trump's depravity. Even when he's made his thirst to kill, crystal clear, over and over again.

The one you were talking about re the stands. I've done risk assessments for a charity. They can be paralysing

halava · 14/07/2024 13:48

The only thing I have to add is that for me anyway, it is best that he was merely injured rather than killed. The consequences of him being assassinated would be unthinkable.

Another consequence may be the curtailment of massive outdoor rallies where the audience gets totally riled up. I never understood them TBH, because surely those attending would be voting for the candidate anyway! But maybe it's to be in the presence of their hero or something.

In my opinion Trump, a previous democrat and Hillary Clinton donor, was able to become a candidate because the democrats destroyed the decent, intelligent republicans that ran previously. (See Mitt Romney). No one viable, stable and honorable steps up to even run now.

He was elected because the working class of America felt abandoned by the democrats and he recognized that. Also because many were simply voting against Hillary Clinton, which was to be expected and not just because she’s a woman.

74 million people voted for him in 2020 after one term. They either liked what he had done and felt better off or just didn’t want Biden.

We have rallies near me and I find them all unhinged and well attended by people who cannot even imagine never mind discuss an opposing view.

RazzleDazzleEm · 14/07/2024 13:53

The rallies feel more like religious evangelism, he uses the same lilting sing song tones, low then high then high...

They all do. Hillary would use an AA accent and manner of speaking when around African Americans. They all are putting on a show and have more plastic surgery than a Hollywood star. Biden tells huge whoppers about his background to show affinity with his audience.

It’s a show and it’s all broken.

When it's all broken extremism rises and democracy falls

No and we need to focus on the widespread mental health crisis among young men that is at the root of this type of gun violence.

RazzleDazzleEm · 14/07/2024 14:05

@Mihnjeetah of course it doesn't matter, what a strange untrue spin to put on my post?
Apologies if your referring to all different post?????

But if not perhaps you can retract your comment?
