What’s your favourite cocktail?

Just for fun. Dd and I are slowly working our way through some popular ones but our favourite so far has got to be the humble spicy margarita.
Also do you have any superb recipes for them? This evening we made mint juleps and caipirinha and both we okay.
i bought good quality spirits, not cheap ones but there is definitely an art to mixology!!

I've just remembered one I loved in my younger days and not seen it mentioned here, Cheeky Vimto. I think it's port, Blue WKD and lemonade.

A Paper Plane is a shaken cocktail made with equal parts of bourbon, Amaro Nonino, Aperol and lemon juice.

I think you said earlier that you don’t like Aperol Spritz so you might not be a fan of this one because of the Aperol in it (although when you combine it with those other ingredients it creates quite a different flavour).

Mezcal is a spirit made from Agave (a spiky cactus type plant). Not a massively standard spirit in the UK but can be a great cocktail base.

Purple rain or mojito for me

Dirty martini

Spiced rum old fashioned (the only time I've had this is in a cocktail bar in Soho high has closed down. No idea what was in it, but was dad instead to watch it being made and went down rather too well. Hangover from hell the next day)

Marmalade martini (good Christmas time drink)

My current favourite, though not a cocktail as such, is limoncello with ice, a slice of lemon and tonic water. Helen McGinn wine lady on Saturday Kitchen suggested this and she is very right.

a Bellini with breakfast

Pornstar martini made with vanilla Absolut and real passion fruit purée. Must have half a passion fruit floated on top.

Alas it's called the Ichigo Pow Pow and was made at one of my favourite bars, but is no longer on their menu. In fact I drank their very last one when I went in and asked for it and he had just enough Wasabi liquor left to make one last glass. It was so yummy.
