I had not realised this is the usual MN trans thread.

ElaineMBenes · 10/07/2024 13:33

No, he said he understood trans women might be able to have a cervix after undergoing surgery. The accurate quote is further up the thread.

I know what he said. It's still incorrect. trans women do not have a cervix, even after undergoing surgery.

While he’s wrong there, he’s not dogmatic. He says he ‘understands’ one can be built by surgical intervention. It’s not a statement of certainty.

But it can’t. No man has a cervix. He can get his or us inverted & make a hole that is effectively a wound that will need to be continually dilated to remain open. . It’s not vagina& it isn’t possible to create a cervix. A cervix to where exactly?

Please we don't want factual accuracy to get in the way of our rants.
That is why I voted for Brexit.

Of course it is. It’s like water, if there’s the merest opportunity for it to seep through it’ll find it.

It is refreshing isn't it. Haven't heard those views for ages.

Melisha · 10/07/2024 13:35

These threads should be kept in Women's Rights. Many of us avoid the trans threads, we do not want them posted elsewhere.

As a women I think it is important that my government can accurately define who I am.
I think it is incredibly important that the biological reality of being a women is recognised and protected in law.

Why is he ‘thick?’

I know everyone on MN likes to dislike him.

l like him, and Angela Raynor. She’s just what the country needs.

He thinks women are “rights hoarding dinosaurs” for wanting single sex spaces away from trans identifying males.

Thats a direct quote from him

Cant stand him

I just think it is a shame that we have not had an election in the UK where there has been the opportunity to express whether we think these things are important or not.

There has been an election. Most people have said the cost of living and the state of the NHS are bigger issues.

I have another Lammy quote.

"chicken"

yes indeed he did once say that word. No idea what the context was, that's not important. I am shocked.

Worried500 · 10/07/2024 13:31

Oh indeed, but she has campaign hard on what a great job they will do and balance the books and already she is backtracking with her new studies into public finances, as was pointed out we ALL have known the UK was still borrowing £150 billion a year and then they all kept promises tax cuts and no rises, how can anyone trust any of them when at minimum they need to stop borrowing.

You know Labour took office on Friday, right? That's five days ago. Yes, they had a rough idea of public finances before the election, but until they actually got their hands on the books it was impossible to know for sure the actual state of them. It's actually sensible for her to order a deep dive. But hey, keep cheering for her and Labour to fail – then we'll see you back on here in a year or so, moaning about the state of YOUR finances because the economy is still tanking.

If a trans woman undergoes surgery to make them feel like they're the person they want to be, they can damn well call those newly created parts whatever they like. So no, not an actual cervix, but THEIR cervix.

Honestly, it's no one else's business.

Think Shabana Mahmood will have hard time staying with the state of prison problems currently. I would be glad to see her go.

I would love to see the back of Angela Rayner - but she is so slow, she is unlikely to even realise what's happening when it's already happened.

There are a few not very intelligent folks in the Cabinet, happy only with Ed Miliband and Alan Campbell - they've seen enough to keep the cabinet on straight and narrow.

Why does Angela Rayner get such a hard time?

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 10/07/2024 13:43

absquatulize · 10/07/2024 13:38

That’s exactly what happened though. We had a Labour landslide.

Keir is in the US, YvetteCooper is getting stuck into immigration, Wes is trying to solve the strikes and help the NHS. They’ve only been in power 4 working days

I think they and the country are clearly moving forwards and the will of the people elected a Labour government🤷🏼‍♀️

I wish it wasn’t our business but it is when language is being changed, these males are using women’s single sex spaces and taking women’s records in sports.

Its happening. Open your eyes

Those things, in the public domain, are our business. Whatever trans people decide to call their own body parts isn't.

Why does Angela Rayner get such a hard time?

She is a working class women. How dare she become Deputy Prime Minister instead of work as a cashier at Tesco. She does not even pretend to be middle class by aping their ways of being.
