Hearing the mam talk on the news. I am heartbroken for her and her family.
But 17 years in jail is nothing he ruined at least two families.

Not long enough for taking those two lives in my opinion. Truly tragic and utterly avoidable. Thoughts are with the mum/ sister.

Rainfallrain · 09/07/2024 20:44

I won’t say what he deserves, the driver.

I rarely cry at the news but reading about her looking for her baby broke me a bit.

Julyshouldbesunny · 09/07/2024 20:45

Why do they even make cars that can go that speed?. Genuine question....

Rosie7475 · 09/07/2024 20:45

I watched a video earlier of him lying to the police saying a hitchhiker had been driving the car!

What an absolute scum bag he is.

That poor woman, how the hell do you go on after that.

NeomDiffuser · 09/07/2024 20:46

He's a cunt. And I rarely rarely use that word. He said on the night 'mistakes happen'.

I quite agree in addition to to the new equiptment that has to be fitted to cars there should be some sort of maximum speed limiter and we need to ask some questions about the sort of vehicles that are allowed on the roads

This! They should not be able to go to such speeds.

Rosie7475 · 09/07/2024 20:49

Oh and I do hope that he's not one of the prisoners that the Labour Party will let out early.

He better serve EVERY day of that sentence.

hattie43 · 09/07/2024 20:50

I've become hardened to the news really but this hit me today , the absolute horror of what happened together with being perpetrated by that vile man with no remorse or acknowledgment of what he's done .
He should never see the light of day again imo

Same here. And for the poor lorry driver who found him

Sethera · 09/07/2024 20:51

I read that earlier and thought he deserved a life sentence.

coldcallerbaiter · 09/07/2024 20:51

I just read the details, very upsetting.

Thevelvelletes · 09/07/2024 20:51

All because fuckwit couldn't keep his lips off a bottle of vodka.
I hope his sleeping hours are full of torment.

Hazeby · 09/07/2024 20:51

Why do some people turn out like this? It sort of mind-boggling that a human being can be so devoid of normal emotion and behaviours. It’s genuinely disturbing.

Julyshouldbesunny · 09/07/2024 20:45

I drive the same car and had no idea it would go that speed but I wouldn't because I drive safely.

Don't use this to try to score cheap shots. You should be more concerned that he will be able to still legally drive at some point in the future, from what the poor mother was saying in her statement.

ThePoshUns · 09/07/2024 20:52

That poor poor woman. I haven't watched the news but read about it today and struggled to read it. Awful for the lorry driver who stopped and helped her find her baby boy. I hope that bastard rots in hell. No one will shed any tears for him.

SendARavenToRiverRun · 09/07/2024 20:53

I cried at the news earlier when the baby's poor poor mother described a lorry driver finding her baby thrown from his car seat onto a grass verge.
What an utter price of shit. I hope he suffers in prison.
So very sad.

I suppose there are some places (and very few such as small bit of the Autobahn and racetracks) where there are no speed limits. Given that very few people use those then there is an argument UK cars should be restricted to a certain speed (probably above 70mph as sometimes being able to accelerate can get you out of trouble.)

AzureAnt · 09/07/2024 20:54

17 year sentence and then when he gets out 21 year driving ban
The bastard should have hung

Omgwhatthehell · 09/07/2024 20:57

I read this in the news today and totally agree.
The term “heartbreaking” can be a bit overused, but this truly is heartbreaking. I cried at the description of her looking for her baby, this piece of shit not even helping, and the lorry driver finding him.

CanelliniBeans · 09/07/2024 20:57

21 year driving ban seems ridiculous. Should be life time. Most of that he'll be in prison anyway.

icelolly12 · 09/07/2024 20:58

It is his lack of remorse that is so mind boggling. Apparently he was flirting with nurses, making up ridiculous stories that a hitchiker was to blame, didn't seem to be upset at the scene at the destruction he caused. Just awful. Vile vile creature.

LizzieBennett73 · 09/07/2024 20:58

His demeanour make my blood run cold. Absolutely no reaction to what he'd done whatsoever.

That poor poor family. I'm not honestly sure I'd have wanted to have survived that accident and spend the rest of my life with the consequences of it.
