KimFan · 08/07/2024 20:33

Ross Noble. Really good!

OnlyFrench · 08/07/2024 20:34

None for thirty years! Before that:
Julian Clary (brilliant)
Hale and Pace (surprisingly good)
French and Saunders, Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson, all disappointing

OnlyFrench · 08/07/2024 20:36

Ooh, Shappi Khorsandi about ten years ago

Tarkan · 08/07/2024 20:40

I don't often go to comedy shows as not too many of the big names come near where I live so I usually have to travel and I don't drive so it's not always easy.

Who I have seen:

Ardal O'Hanlon twice about 15 years apart, I'm sure I heard some of the same jokes in both

Eddie Izzard (Force Majeure tour)

Micky Flanagan

I've won tickets to see Tom Davis later this month but have no idea what his show is like.

I've also stood beside Kevin Bridges in a pub but haven't seen his live show yet.

Edited

I saw one of Ian Cognito's last gigs - he was brilliant and yet there were only about 15 people there! It was more of a small gathering in a bar with him smelling strongly of marijuana and regaling us with stories. Great night 🥰

Newnameahoy · 08/07/2024 20:48

Dave gorman - I didn't know much about him but I was laughing so much I was wheezing throughout....happier than a horse in trousers!

Noel fielding and Russel brand as the goth detectives - also hilarious but this was years ago! Noel fielding still makes me laugh....brand not so much

Russell brand on his own - also hilarious at the time (early noughties) but myself and friend were slightly perturbed at the end by the being held in the entrance whilst he pointed out who was to be asked to go to his "after-party" then all being encouraged to chase him down a pier!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 08/07/2024 20:54

Jason Manford, Michael McIntyre, Peter Kay, Bill Bailey, Gary Delaney, Sarah Millican, John Bishop, Paddy McGuinness

My absolute favourites were Bill Bailey, Peter Kay and Michael McIntyre.

Claim to fame: I gave Sarah Millican the idea for her 'chocolate sex noise' joke at a pre-gig she did after she told me to try two types of chocolate at the same time. Proud of that one 😂

HolyMoly24 · 08/07/2024 21:22

Sean Locke. We absolutely loved him on panel shows etc and thought he was hilarious.

Unfortunately it really fell flat for him that night and he kept saying things like 'you know you can laugh if you want to...'. Was very awkward.

I'm not sure where this show fell in the timeline of when he knew he had cancer though so that could have been the issue.

Jack Dee
Frank Skinner
Steve Coogan
Greg Davies

Jenny Eclair

meltedchocolateandstrawberries · 08/07/2024 21:40

I've only seen Michael McIntyre (over 10 years ago) and James Acaster just a couple of weeks ago. Both very funny. Wish I'd seen Sean Lock and Billy Connelly. Would love to see Ricky Gervais on his next tour but I know it's hard to get tickets.
