Has to be sliders with socks. It looks terrible.

The lip fillers. Especially the upside-down ones where the top lip is bigger than the bottom.

I’m sure some are fine, but the ones I see just look swollen and sore. I know one person who has them lopsided so she looks like Mary from Hocus Pocus.

BoudiccaOfSuburbia · 07/07/2024 12:37

Those up-your-arse crinkly seam leggings

I I am also not a fan of the tiered, frilled, puffed sleeved frocks that the shops are full of.

Crinklycrisp · 07/07/2024 12:39

Wide leg jeans.

Socks with sliders. I honestly don't have feelings either way about fillers or leggings or anything else but socks with sliders, and the socks are always grubby from the dust, looks so awful on everybody wearing them.

katebushh · 07/07/2024 12:46

Cream and beige bodysuits, shows every nook and cranny which the the rest of us dress to cover up. Added to it huge fake eyelashes and fake lips with thick brown makeup. All worn with sliders.

JC03745 · 07/07/2024 12:54

TBH- I would have no clue what is actually IN fashion? Things I can't stand though:

  1. Off the shoulder/strapless tops where the person clearly needs more support (I say this as someone with large boobs and who has needed a bra since my teens!)
  2. Trout pout paired with massive drag eyelashes
  3. Skinny jeans, infact, skinny anything
  4. Open toed shoes with manky and/or hairy toes
  5. Fluffy slides which look like slippers
  6. Wearing gym wear to the grocery shop, bank, post office- infact, anywhere that isn't the gym!

Oh, look - an entire board dedicated to chatting about clothes and style!Grin

It's not about style, rather the lack of.

100% the fillers and Botox. So weird talking to people when their face is full of this shit. I cant concentrate on what they’re saying because I’m too distracted by their weird facial expressions.

I would need an hour to write down all the examples for England (have not visited anywhere in Wales or Scotland this year). By contrast were this Italy or France, probably only a minute maximum (I was in France six weeks ago).

SiobhanSharpe · 07/07/2024 13:05

Yes, this thread is anti-style and hence I think would not belong in the style and beauty topic.
(not least because there may be some posters in S an B who would love some of the above. And why not, that's their prerogative. But not the point of this thread. )
It's good to have both viewpoints aired. .

Agree with this. I love how Italian women dress especially.

elQuintoConyo · 07/07/2024 13:21

To be fair, if I had a fantastic arse, I'd be in scrunchy bum gym wear 24/7 . I wouldn't have had the courage to wear such clothes when I fid have that arse, around 1994, so props to girls/women who leave the house dressed like that.

I'm in Spain, other than the sliders+socks and cycling shorts, I haven't seen the other things mentioned.

Those toenails in the fluffy mules made me heave 😷

Herewegoagainandagainandagain · 07/07/2024 13:24

The fakeness of everything.

Boob jobs, perfect teeth, contouring, lashes, nail extensions, fake tan, excessively skimpy clothing, professionally applied thick makeup for minor occasions, boxtox, fillers, intimate waxing, ridiculous eyebrows, social media filters.

Some young women pressurised into spending a fortune to look like cartoon characters or porn stars and lacking the confidence to embrace good health and their natural beauty.

I have no idea how we got here so quickly and it is not surprising the pressure causes MH issues in many young women.

I have to agree. Any dress with trainers really. I’m happy people are comfy and heels are less of a thing, but I don’t think it looks good.

Did Mr Methane complain?

DancingPhantomsOnTheTerrace · 07/07/2024 13:46

Personally, I don't like really chunky trainers. I don't mind fashion trainers in general, but the really chunky ones I don't like.

And for me wearing it, the oversized style of things like blazers. That's not something I'm bothered about on others, but I'm very short, and small, so I just look like a small child in my mother's clothes. So that's one of the worst for me wearing it, not one I think looks the worst on others necessarily.

Countessmaladjusted · 07/07/2024 13:53

Fake eyelashes. I suppose specifically the cheap ones that teenage girls glue on before school. They just make their eyes look grubby. Especially when it's paired with fake tan.

Exactly this.🙂

AdviceNeeded2024 · 07/07/2024 14:00

I agree with fake eyelashes, the thick black ones. It makes most people’s eyes look so much smaller and yes they do look grubby too.

I also hate branding on everything and the explosion of ‘drug dealer chic’ 😂 like certain mid to high price brands, usually leisure type wear, covered in massive logos!

I kind of feel no one has much individual style anymore a lot of people, lads and girls, look identical clones of each other.

Oh yes. So much.
Flat sandals all the way if you don’t like heels.
I would rather wear the socks and flip flops that trainers with a dress.

I SO agree with you and@Beginningless

NeopreneMermaid · 07/07/2024 14:08

Backless tops/dresses. I want to wear a bra! I'm so tired of clicking on a nice-looking top only to find the (lack of) back makes it completely unwearable.
