It's general election day for the Playmobil people in our house.

Here are this year's candidates. From left to right:- Michael the beach policeman (Law and order party), Emilia (Fashion accessories party), Jack Jellyhead (Legalise robbery party) Norman the foreman (Tea drinking and lifesaving party), Deepika (Keep fit party) and Seiji (DIY party).

Will Norman the foreman and the Tea drinking and lifesaving party remain in power? We will have to find out! The population of Playmoland will soon be arriving to cast their votes.

The polling station will open at 7 am.

@Falderalagain yes, the votes will all be added up.

While I am in favour of life saving, I also look really good in a hat.

Wearing hats to ward off the sun can help prevent skin cancer so Emilia is really saving lives too.

My vote is for Emilia.

I'm voting for Jack. It's refreshing to have a candidate who's honest about his dishonesty.

Grr - there were only 5 candidates in my constituency and I didn't like any of them.

But Playmoland - gotta vote for Norman because ... tea (oh and life saving of course, that's important too.)

Such a difficult choice. I'm really in support of tea drinking but I can't help but feel we're saving too many lives these days, know what I mean?

I need a candidate that's more central than either "law and order" or "legalise robbery" - both just seem like such extreme positions.

I can't take Emilia seriously wearing a hat like that.

I think it's got to be a vote for Seiji. If he can fix up the little jobs around the house then surely he can fix up the societal problems afflicting Playmoland?

Norman for me! tea drinking is an important issue for me. Glad he’s protecting our tea drinking rights! ☕️

I'm a big fan of first aid so it's Norman all the way. I am glad that tea drinking is not essential as that would be something I would struggle to support - coffee is my cuppa.

Seiji gets my vote. DH hopeless with DIY and might learn something.

I'm also shallow enough to vote for Emilia but I am justifying it as a tactical vote as I am worried about the possibility of Norman and Jack having to form a coalition if no one gets a majority.

I also think there is an amazing publicity photoshoot opportunity for Norman and Seiji to quickly build a ramp together for easy access to the polling station. Imagine the smiling handshake afterwards - instant vote winner for both of them. Lucius would appreciate it, I'm sure.
