Purely because I am really strange and find things like what time of day people voted interesting.

First to vote at my polling station. Canine alarm clock

Omg that’s my dog! Haha. Sorry I’ve not voted just yet OP. I just want to find out about this lovely dog..

Turkeyhen · 04/07/2024 10:45

Postal vote (because away from home address) sent about 10 days ago.

Baneofmyexistence · 04/07/2024 10:46

I voted at 9am on the way back from the school run!

As an aside, why are so many people doing postal votes?

It's holiday time and lots of us are away!

CoffeandTiaMaria · 04/07/2024 10:47

Postal vote here, simply because of unpredictable ill health. It just makes it easier.

fuckthetories2 · 04/07/2024 10:51

Just been to the polling station.... got some funny looks with my Irish passport as ID 🙄

We took our pooch too 😃 combining the morning walk with voting is very efficient!

You can't vote in person prior to 7am. No polling station should accept a vote before 7am so not sure you voted in person at 6.43am OP

She didn't say that.

gingercat02 · 04/07/2024 10:55

Postal vote (since covid), but luckily, as we're on holiday

Dinkading · 04/07/2024 10:59

I voted at about 10:40. The station is one of many very small ones in a large city. It was quiet for me, only saw one other voter who was leaving as I arrived. I felt annoyed when they asked to see ID first, I had expected to show it but I'm still annoyed by that policy change which disenfranchises certain groups. I voted Labour and look forward to change in policies that actually reflect the interests of the public.

spiderlight · 04/07/2024 11:01

Voted at about 8.30. Polling station was very quiet. Hopefully it will have picked up after the school run.

Set it up for reasons I can't remember, never changed it.

Awrite · 04/07/2024 11:05

Just voted. Was very busy. Lady said it had been busy all morning. The weather here is atrocious as well.

One of the candidates turned up as I was leaving.

Funny looks from whom? The polling staff?

hexsnidgett · 04/07/2024 11:08

Been to vote. Steady stream of people in the scout hut. Smile

fuckthetories2 · 04/07/2024 11:16

@wtfissummer yes, they looked and said "oooo not sure we can accept this".... soon changed their mind when I pointed out it was an Irish passport and they are required to accept all EU passports! Good job I knew or I could have been discouraged

newrubylane · 04/07/2024 11:21

I voted on the way back from the school run. The polling station is the church, which happens to be next door to my back garden, which is very convenient. There was no one else there but that's pretty normal. I don't think I've ever voted there at the same someone else apart from my husband! Did bump into a friend on her way in as I left.

That's really bad. They get training and official handbooks with pictures as well. poor show

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 04/07/2024 11:30

I did postal as currently in hospital waiting for an operation

TeamPolin · 04/07/2024 11:31

Voted. Polling station pretty busy - which always heartens me to see.

Jackjackjackaroo · 04/07/2024 11:32

Voted! ✅

Coastalcreeksider · 04/07/2024 11:35

Polling Station is five minute walk up road, church hall.

I went up at 9.15am, I was the only one in there but two people came in as I was on my way out. Thought it would be busier but might be more voters later in day with working people on way home.
