A thread to check in and say I'VE VOTED

Purely because I am really strange and find things like what time of day people voted interesting.

OP posts:
Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 04/07/2024 07:57

We voted at 0715. We were 4th and 5th in (we are usually first in 😂)

No one queuing before us or after us but our polling station is always typically very quiet first thing

Knea · 04/07/2024 07:58

Voted last week, I always do a postal vote.

Justcallmebebes · 04/07/2024 08:02

You can't vote in person prior to 7am. No polling station should accept a vote before 7am so not sure you voted in person at 6.43am OP

whojamaflip · 04/07/2024 08:02

Voted at 7.10, was the second person to arrive. Our polling station is very rural so it's rare I've ever gone to vote and seen another person there! Mind you I'm usually running at the last minute just before the polls close as we farm so usually stuck on a tractor all day - was a novelty to go first thing!

The OP didn't say she's just voted - think she's merely inviting posters to report in that they've voted!

DontBiteTheCat · 04/07/2024 08:07

I voted at 7.10am, there was a fair few people there!

ihatecoffee · 04/07/2024 08:09

Applied for a postal vote as am on holiday but it didn't arrive on time 😡

I did a postal vote, so voted a while go.

Same here.
I wanted to make sure my vote arrived in time as I want to oust our useless and unsupportive Tory MP.

Droolylabradors · 04/07/2024 08:19

I'm waiting until the teenagers wake up so they can come too (plus dogs, obvs!)

So could be mid afternoon.

I am also intrigued as to who votes so early and why.

Our polling station has 100 adults on the list, so queuing isn't an issue!

CheeseWisely · 04/07/2024 08:21

Postal Vote here as I'm not in the country. Sent last week Tuesday.

I voted early because I have work all day and then children’s activities this evening - we won’t get home until around 8pm and then we all need feeding.

It was just easier for me to go first thing, my polling station is less than a minutes walk away.

Getonwitit · 04/07/2024 08:25

One more cup of tea and i will set off. Wet and blustery here today but will still walk along the beach to the village hall, hoping to make it there and back without getting soaked as it's cold bitter rain that is falling.

daisychain01 · 04/07/2024 08:26

We were going to vote at 7am but changed our mind as we need to do some shopping later, so we'll drop by the Polling Station on the way at 11am ish

ImDelphine · 04/07/2024 08:28

I haven’t voted yet, but I do have a question if anyone knows the answer, please?
My polling card is in my married name but my IDs are in my maiden name, can I still vote?

Mrsjayy · 04/07/2024 08:30

I'll go after dinner with Dh and pick up the parents on the way,

@DontBiteTheCat well that all makes perfect sense, thank you! And have a good day at work.

We are all finished school for the year here so all the running around is over thank goodness!

EveryKneeShallBow · 04/07/2024 08:34

Postal vote here.

FlipFlops4Me · 04/07/2024 08:37

Did a postal vote. Going to be a loooong day until polls close and results start coming in sometime in the wee hours.

Take your marriage certificate, that might work?
