Purely because I am really strange and find things like what time of day people voted interesting.

OP posts:

I voted around 7.15am before work. No queue, just a steady trickle of people going in the door.

Voted early so I can go to the gym after work and then off to an event at DC school. If I did it later I’d either have to skip the gym or not vote until nearly 9pm.

You can't vote in person prior to 7am. No polling station should accept a vote before 7am so not sure you voted in person at 6.43am OP

It has been explained several times that the OP didn’t vote at that time.

We went as a family with the kids at 8.30am before they went to school. I was surprised there weren’t any queues. Feeling excited about change and the potential new MPs

Been this morning to the Polling Place - not Polling Station.
Polling Place somehow sounds more friendly, especially in a broad Glasgow accent.

WinterNightStars · 04/07/2024 09:24

Postal vote done last week

BlowDryRat · 04/07/2024 09:41

I voted at the polling station after the school run.

Cangar · 04/07/2024 09:42

Postal vote last week for me

Grasshopper15 · 04/07/2024 09:56

Postal vote last week.

Startingagainandagain · 04/07/2024 10:04

I voted around 8.30 this morning and there was already a queue...

placemats · 04/07/2024 10:14

Seems like there's already brisk voting and a lot of postal votes.

I posted my vote on 23 June to catch early collection Monday morning.

Itiswhysofew · 04/07/2024 10:17

Postal vote, sent last week. Hope it got thereHmm

Sunnyside4 · 04/07/2024 10:19

Voted.

The lady nearly made a mistake and crossed through my daughter's name😂. DD is passionate about voting and wouldn't have taken it lightly if I rean't realised what she was about to do and DD was denied her vote.

placemats · 04/07/2024 10:19

It'll get there @Itiswhysofew

PerkingFaintly · 04/07/2024 10:19

Postal.

Sunnyside4 · 04/07/2024 10:20

Forgot to say it was busier than usual.

Alwaystired23 · 04/07/2024 10:22

I voted after dropping my son to school. Walked in and out, it's been very busy by the polling station, so hopefully, everyone is voting. My parents have decided not to. Apparently, it won't make much difference, the same as Brexit 🙄

MorrisZapp · 04/07/2024 10:24

I've voted! No queue at all and a nice big car park. Luxury democracy.

Doodlebugbop · 04/07/2024 10:35

Just been and put my cross in the box, there was a few people there but no queues.

WmFnKdSg1234 · 04/07/2024 10:38

Walking around to the polling station in about an hour. (DH and me.) Both got a day off. Smile He has told me who he is voting for, but I am not telling him. I tell no-one. People judge and comment, even DH, and our DC.

It's between me and the ballot box. Smile

LikeWhoUsesTypewritersAnyway · 04/07/2024 10:40

As an aside, why are so many people doing postal votes?

Emmerald · 04/07/2024 10:41

We voted around 9:30am. No queue, one other car pulled in as we left.

typicaltuesdaynight · 04/07/2024 10:41

I've just voted I was the only person in the polling station

Silviasilvertoes · 04/07/2024 10:42

Me too. Went in on the way back from the school run. Got an unusually emphatic welcome and thanks from the polling clerk, maybe he’s hoping for change too. Ours is predicted to oust a Tory so 🤞

JewelleryCat · 04/07/2024 10:42

Postal vote for me as well and to why so many are doing a postal vote. Disability, going on holiday, working, can’t be bothered going to the polling station or just wanted to do a postal vote lol
