Anyone else out there who hasn't had Covid?

Lilifer · 03/07/2024 20:15

I have yet to get Covid. Both me and my mum (85years old) have never had it or at least have never tested positive.

I think this is really strange as pretty much everyone else that I know has had it and some have had it multiple times over and been really ill.

What also makes it odd is that I have a chronic low white blood cell count which is not life threatening but supposedly leaves me more vulnerable to illness.

The longer it goes on the more I am hoping that maybe I somehow have some immunity to this virus, or maybe I'm just really lucky, I hope that continues 🙏🙏

Oddly enough those of us who never gave a damn about never got it.

Such a strange comment. I gave a damn about it (& still do) and have never had it. Bang goes your weird conspiracy theory.

What a stupid comment!

DH, a doctor, worked on Covid wards but never got it - I worried about him 24/7 for the circumstances they were working through.

Me and my ds2 have never tested positive for it, or had any symptoms of it. Everyone else in the household had it more than once and we didn't particularly take care in the house when they were ill.

fieldsofbutterflies · 04/07/2024 07:19

No idea, I never tested and neither did DH.

FrenchandSaunders · 04/07/2024 07:29

I haven’t as far as I know except for a horrible fluey thing xmas 2019 which almost our whole office in London went down with … but apparently covid wasn’t over here then but who can say for sure.

DH had it twice and I slept next to him. One DD worked in a supermarket throughout and one came home from uni which was riddled with covid. Neither of them got it.

MymateDave · 04/07/2024 07:31

Both my parents have never had it. They are retired so only leave the house for shopping and doctors.
my sister has never had it either. Which is very surprising as we both worked at the same supermarket and i caught it multiple times!

CollyBobble · 04/07/2024 07:36

I don't know anyone directly who has had it. No one in my immediate family or my sisters families or my brothers family.

notanothernana · 04/07/2024 07:43

Me on 3rd bout currently, dh his 4th.

It's decimated; our summer holiday (should be there now), Christmas, renovation work, an elderly relative's 90th birthday, 3 gigs and I'm sick of it.

daffodilandtulip · 04/07/2024 07:46

I've never had it, I worked with the public throughout lockdown and tested weekly.

positivewings · 04/07/2024 07:47

I've not had it never had the jabs either come to think of it I've never had any jabs.

LadyGreySpillsTheTea · 04/07/2024 08:01

DH has never had it as far as he knows (ie could only have had it asymptomatically, if at all). He has had 4 x vax though. He rarely gets viruses generally, despite not having the healthiest of lifestyles. We joke that years in a boarding school gave him an immune system of steel.
dds1 and 2 have a slightly different issue: we strongly suspect they’ve had it once apiece with false negative tests, so never formally been diagnosed. I’ve had it once only. In fact, I only know one person who’s had it more than once, and in his case it’s probably because he does a lot of long-haul flying. Everyone else I know is also fully-vaxed, and the combination of 3x vax plus one actual case seems to be doing the job of providing enough immunity for most people in recent years. We’re not in the UK BTW.

Thisbastardcomputer · 04/07/2024 08:07

Neither my dh or I have ever had it, I visited my sister in law yesterday and neither her or her husband have.

Devilsmommy · 04/07/2024 08:11

Never had it and never got vaccinated either

garej · 04/07/2024 08:23

DD never tested positive for it, DH and I got it for the first time a couple of months ago. Tested because of vulnerability, so was given antivirals. DD was very careful to stay away from us and it seems to have worked.

gamerchick · 04/07/2024 08:38

Lol, COVID is the new vegan. Always has to slip in not having the vaccine even though nobody asked Grin

Dontcallmescarface · 04/07/2024 08:42

Me which I'm very surprised about as I have had close contact with many that have had it. I've only had 2 shots of the vaccine as well.

LittleLegsKeepGoing · 04/07/2024 08:43

We were testing very regularly because my father had MND...which also meant we were still testing long after lockdown ended, up until he died.

My youngest never tested positive the whole time we were testing and hasn't been ill since we stopped testing so could only have had covid asymptomatically. At more than one point in the early days of being back in school covid ran rampant throughout her class, she was the only child who didn't contract it so we're working on the basis that she has natural immunity.

HouseofHolbein · 04/07/2024 08:45

Me. And my entire family tbh. There were 7 of us in the house through first lockdown. Me and husband worked in supermarkets. We weren't particularly careful. Once things eased up we had 2 in school 2 in college and 1 working in care.

Unless we have all had asymptomatic Covid none of us have had it.

We have had the vaccinations tho.

Those who didn't have the vaccine are probably least inclined to test though, so you can take that with a pinch of salt.

Allthehorsesintheworld · 04/07/2024 08:52

Never had Covid or even any symptoms of it. I very rarely get even a cold. As a child I didn’t catch any of the regular illnesses like measles, mumps ( pre vaccine child) even though siblings caught them.

Yep, always one who points out the obvious issues with statistics. Helpful isn't it?

NineChickennuggets · 04/07/2024 09:20

Some people will have had it but didn't get any symptoms. My nurse sister didn't know she had had it until an antibodies test came back positive.

CherryRipe1 · 04/07/2024 09:25

Three of my friends have never had it and are rabidly anti vaxx! My GP hasn't had it either.
