The right wing press won't want to be seen to support the losing side

Particularly if the loss is a huge as is being predicted (please please please please please 🙏)

RafaistheKingofClay · 03/07/2024 16:59

It might be possible to have some respect for newspapers backing Starmer if they’d done it weeks ago. Doing it a day before an election the Tories are about to lose this badly smacks of self interest.

I'd so love the tories to get below 100

itsgettingweird · 03/07/2024 17:13

Just got in and caught up with last thread and now here. Yet to catch up on this one.

But just wanted to say cardi your team names made me laugh 😆

My car wouldn't start after I drove to Tesco last night so breakdown bumped it and I managed to dive home. Mobile mechanic coming Monday as likely starter motor. Managed to secure a hire car until Monday as ds has mobility issues.

Got home and Skoda rang to say his mobility car arrives in uk ports next week.

We need a collective will that mine can be fixed and survives until ds car arrives and I can sell it!

Can’t believe that after 14 years (the last 4.5 have been particularly long) the day is nearly here.

🤞 for tomorrow being my last day working for the NHS under the Tories for a while.

I see Rishlimey knows what's more important for Keir Starmers family life than Keir Starmer.

We are indeed blessed to have such a man to tell us we are doing life wrong.

Or he's a cunt.

You choose.

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/keir-starmer-jewish-prime-minister-tories-times-radio-b1168386.html

I think Starmer did so well talking about it. Purely because it handed the Tory's something on a plate to pick holes in and there was always the chance they wouldn't stop and think about how they make themselves look.

So clever to get the party that calls them anti semetic to go all out complaining the leader reserves time as part of Jewish religious tradition for their family.

He literally gave them the ball and an open home goal.

A bit of French elections news

https://x.com/AlexTaylorNews/status/1808528927196950820

Break ! According to 1st poll just released after the 2nd round "stand-downs" and full candidate-list was closed yesterday, Le Pen's Far Right RN doesn't come anywhere near the absolute majority it would need to govern (289 seats) and is predicted to get only 190 - 220 seats

Well if your Tory MP is actually a decent one and your labour candidate doesn't live in the area and the Lib Dem candidate is a complete dick....

What margin of error was being applied ?

1% can make the outcome very different to the usual 5-10% pollsters prefer to work by.

This is why all the changing predictions are interesting, considering they are all based on the same data.

Remember: most people in the UK have more than the average number of legs.

In other news, a local woman has posted on FB with a response from Andrew Bridgen...

She was asking him about his views on the ECHR

He responded about cats!?????? (RSPCA??)

I think he's genuinely lost the plot

tobee · 03/07/2024 17:44

Ah! Just checked my emails and have one from John Crace! Starting Hi Tobee (or my real name 😄) and telling me it's polling day tomorrow!! Anyone else? 😉
